In low light the difference is day and night (no pun intended). It's embarrassing. However, I mostly prefer Ultra in daylight samples. Is this the aub9 firmware? I really hope Samsung can do some more tinkering with low light video recording. Low light photos are spectacular on Ultra, I don't understand why is there such a Huge discrepancy between photo and video quality

It really different 4k 60fps and 30fps at night. 4k 60 on ultra at night is very noise... but 30fps is really great.. I have not idea why, I just find out today.

S21 has a bug, its 60fps is horrible. Exynos 2100 ISP (Image Signal Processor) is the reason probably. After 6 months Samsung isn't fixed it yet. Probably unfixable problem. S21, S21+, S21 Ultra all have the same problem.

Was there dirt / smudge on the iPhone camera? I have both and do not see results like that. Now i need to do the same, s=21u is way over sharpened/clarity and the iPhone is way soft in this video,. They both do not look good.

The problem for samsung isnt oversharpening rather, it is because the lens he was using isnt a main lense but rather the lense for the ultrawide thats why ... he shouldve used the 5x lense where its really using the lense and nott zoom

The iPhone needs a software update or something. It’s trying to get rid of the snow in the same way it would deal with noise. Hence the black boxes that keep appearing. Should be fixable though in an update. Incidentally, it’s very surprising to see such a balls up by Apple like this. Dynamic range used to be their thing but for a while now they’ve been unsatisfactorily dicking about with noise reduction so in the extremes you get problems like those apparent here. Other than that though the snow scene into the sun is very good and does a better job of ditching the obviously erroneous yellow cast over the scene.

lets do this comparison at 4k30fps instead of 4k60fps. then still iphone will probably win over on samsung but with less gap. however if you look at photo comparison on the other hand. samsung should definitely would be better on overall.

I have the s20 ultra and it is not that over sharpened. Idk wtf they did to the s21 but it looks pretty bad but even from comparisons between the s20u and s21u I found the s20 looks way more natural as it should. Funny how people talked shit about the s20 line because of the focusing issues yet it turned out to perform incredibly once it was updated a bit.

Ok, I have the S21 Ultra now and gotta say some things. It's not that over sharpened haha. At night, it sucks, it's exactly as shown on this video but on daylight, it's pretty good and with good detail. This over sharpening shown in this video is not okay, something is seriously wrong here.

I have the S21+ and it's exactly sh*t like shown in the vid when recording 4k60p H.265 (I still got to test H.264). It's not only the sharpening but very possible upscaling at the same time. 4k30p does not seem to have this issue. I haven't used my phone for video much so far, the reason I found this video only now. I could not believe what I recorded over the weekend. This is trash!

The night videos will be worse on Samsung due to the high mega pixel count but the worse part is the over sharpening. I cannot understand why Samsung need such severe over sharpening on a high reseoultion sensor. The Iphone is balanced throughout but i think Samsung has the nicer colours. But i don't think the difference makes the S21 Utra unacceptable. For video the Iphone 12pro max is just better than the Samsung S21 Ultra.
