Pixel photo colours are more real. Samsung's red is too red, blue too blue and white to white Samsung zoom is an advantage, but pixels 3x digital is not bad at all. Vids of the samsung maybe slighty better, but oh boy pixel made a giant step forwards with the video. I bought the 4a5g for 399 euro. Same camera as the 5. I wouldnt swap it for a samsung that costs 2x as much. Thx great review as always ✌️

I believe they both hold there own pretty well, both are also inconsistence in various conditions. Its hit or miss for me, just like the Iphone 12 vs Galaxy S21they both do well and bad depending on the conditions. We are at a point in cell phone camera "quality" is coming down to "software" handling and adjusting to these conditions the best.

Watched the video a few times, but Pixel has the better camera to my eye, but S21 just feels more filmic. Colors feel a lot more nuanced, stabilization feels less ghostlike/unnatural, and though Pixel was more appealing are night, S21 at night, again, has a lot more character. But I'm also thinking as a "filmmaker." More general use though, Pixel for the win.

Thank you for making me save time and money. I wont buy the S21 and stick for a while w my Pixel 4XL. Pixel is a lot better for textures, colours, dynamic range, portrait, and moving subjects. Samsung only wins managing the high lights in night pictures. Your daughter's freckles went away on the S21 xD

I'll have to watch this again later, but here are some of my first impressions. For stills, the S21 looks like it's doing some aggressive noise reduction leading to softer images, while the Pixel looks sharper but noisier. The colors look more contrast-y on the Pixel v S21 for stills as well. But ironically, for video, it appears the opposite is happening. 🤔

Biggest advantage Pixel has over any other camera is it's shutter speed especially to capture moving pets n kids! Gcam on Samsung gives nearly the best of both worlds!

For stills I'd choose the Pixel 5 (S21 images are over brightened). Video it's closer than I thought (usually Samsung are much better).

Try to take a picture of everyone on an ultra-standing person and notice how the head turns into a snout and the whole figure and legs look unnatural. Experiment, but don't think much about the playful best photo unless you want the character to be really small in the photo and you will take photos from a distance.

Your videos in this comparison appear to be pretty damn good in terms of clarity...I recently used an S20 I purchased and now want to return because the 4k video seemed to lack clarity..almost like the video had a slight blur to it or was out of focus. Well, I'm super glad I'm still using my S10+. Now I know the sensors got changed when the s20 came out but besides the Note20, I still don't see the point in upgrading till something comes out that blows my mind... since you had the 3x ( never owned a pixel only ported the cam the past phones) did the pixel 3x really took better photo's? If you've ever wondered why the pixel 5 costs as much as it does herein demonstrates as to why, hardware can only take you so far, and google has to pay their Software engineers the best they can, and they are superior to them all but apple, though some would argue apple is best, and they probably are overall between video and stills, but not by much

Actually the reason why Pixel 5 costs so much is because they spent a lot on adding wireless charging and water resistance (which mind you cost a lot). If they removed these things, they could have easily added a flagship processor. Oneplus 8T (or at least back then) had just as many software updates and clean software as Google.

I bought the Pixel 5 hoping it would be my new phone but the poor video capture drove me to iPhone. I had Samsung since the S3 and was so fed up with the S20 and wanted to stick with Android but iPhone really does destroy Android in video quality. Hopefully Android can catch up some day.

@@jkidd7608 Hmmm I have the iphone 8plus and had the iphone 11. I don't see iphones destroying android. I've done few camera comparisons. The front facing video is not great on iphones. Even the Xiaomi Poco X3 beats the iphone 11 in my laat video comparison.

@@Soto-Tech2020 well I don't know. I've had Android for a long time. I was very disappointed with the Pixel 5 video quality. It was ok outside but absolutely horrible indoors. Anything dark in color turned out really grainy and noisy. Samsung does a better job but Samsung also has a good bit of stutter in their video capture. iPhone really is so much smoother and clearer. I love Android but they are still lagging behind. In many areas.

@@jkidd7608 Well, I don't agree but it's a matter of personal perception and opinions. I've seen stutters on iphones too and in my comparisons it's not that much better or not even better than other phones. Once again, the front facing camera video recording lags behind a lot of rivals. Where I think iphones is smoother than Samsung and basically anyone else is when you are changing lenses while recording videos.

Thank you for the comparison. Selfie camera is MUCH better on the S21. Stills are pretty even and dependent on conditions. Very surprised that the Pixel digital zoom vs S21 optical zoom is quite close in many conditions. Samsung continues to over saturate the colors which is a bit disappointing. I have a 4a5g and have been very pleased with the photos I get and would never consider a change based solely on picture quality. However, I want to be able to use video out for streaming from my phone and Google refuses to make that possible with Pixel so I may have to consider an S21. Good news is that I can trade my Pixel for an S21 even up so I will likely do that.

I use two dailys, the 4xl & my newly acquired S21+. Guess what, the pixel still has the better camera's? I'm a huge Samsung fan boy nut job but the proof is in the pudding, the pixel still wins 🏆the day camera wise? I've even speed tested these two. Even with the 855processer the 888 is just a tad faster. The 855 keeps up quite admirably, great review!

@@subhankhan4614 A camera system is more than the some of its parts. Lens size though important is only one of many factors . The critique was never about lens size, its about sensor size (surface area/pixel size). Not sure why you are bring up Megapixels? Yes the Pro Max uses a much larger sensor thus will have a larger lens to cast an image over it, again I was referring to the 12 Pro (non max). In tests the Pro Max is not much better than the Pixel 5 and certainly not worth twice the cost. Since in smartphones heavily use computational photography the magic happens after the data leaves the sensor. Having more megapixels generally means a smaller pixel size. So yes phones like the S21 Ultra 108MP has a larger sensor because its has to fits all those pixels but they are smaller. Binning technology is used. Each system has its tradeoff or pros and cons.

This was a disappointing upload and personally a waste of time. I guess I thought it was a review for some reason. For me it was horrible. The transitions are too fast. KZbin already sucks with touch input and you're then constantly having to pause the screen and then take away the on-screen icons so you can do a comparison between the two pictures. Why don't you just slow down the transitions for people that don't have Superman eyes and then you can space it out so if they want to go to the next picture they just double tap the screen and it fast forwards to the next picture. I'm not even a tech guy and I had this idea, yet you probably make money doing this? I thought this was an almost pointless video and a poor production. I would never subscribe if the videos are all of the same caliber. I don't know how you have so many positive comments although most of them are really comparing the two phones cameras, which is what you should've been doing. It was a video with a bunch of pictures and hardly any technical insight between the two devices. But maybe I misread something and was watching the wrong video.
