Ever since I got my Note 20 Ultra, I've been a Note series fan. Although I'm excited that Note have finally make a return, I'm kinda disappointed that this year Samsung didn't include SD Card slot. Getting an expandable memory saves a lot of headaches when dealing with file transfers.
@joshjohnson2753
@joshjohnson2753 2 жыл бұрын
I doubt they'll ever add it again, they can monopolize the expandable memory and force us to buy the higher models for more $. The thing I wish they'd add is the charger or at least make it optional. $1300 for a phone with no charger is ridiculous

@@joshjohnson2753 For me its quite the opposite. Chargers you can buy from a third party brand. I have a 100W charger with 2 Type-C and 1 USB-A connector. Its a lot better than original one and a lot cheaper. But man, SD card removal makes my workflow and external backup much more difficult.
@MSR93
@MSR93 2 жыл бұрын
@@HailTheShogun yes its more than enough. I'm rocking 256GB internal + 256GB external memory and barely use half of it. But its a lot more convenient for me to backup my files to external memory in case the phone permanently damaged. I can easily pop-up the SD Card and put it on a new phone.

Curved screens are the worst ever design gimmick. They are practically unusable and even make the screen more than 10% smaller, not to mention screen protection.... I cannot stand my Note 10+ compared to the Note4 (which curve was irritating, after Note3). Much smaller usable screen, reflections, colour shift, all in the edges. Only Notes with Flat screen is the 10 Lite and the 20 non ultra...

I own the S21 Ultra and two of my biggest gripes are the weight and the curved display (which isn't too bad on the Ultra, thankfully). No one is asking for the curved display, I really dislike that they made it more prominent this year instead of getting rid of it altogether. It's a stupid gimmick to make the phone seem more aesthetically pleasing. Give me functionality, not form.

Agreed. The curved display was cool and interesting at first, but it’s just impractical. I was shocked when I was quoted to replace the curved glass screen when I cracked my Note. Luckily I was able to trade it in and am now back to flat screen phones.

@DogeFrom2014

I initially appreciated curved displays for the immersion. But after owning one (OP7pro), I noticed that it didn't make much difference in being "bezel-less". What they need to work on first is reducing the size of the bezels itself. Once there is literally no bezel, then only maybe curved display would make sense. I'm okay with phones whose displays are slightly curved, though (e.g. LG V30). Just nothing as dramatic as the OnePlus 7/8/9 Pro that makes the colors shift.

Like how the regular one has a smaller screen, I really don't get why companies are pushing bigger and bigger screens every year, so that's a nice trend there. However 3700mAh feels a bit small and although it only has a 6.1 inch screen, 4000mAh should be the minimum for 2022 imo. Also like the design and I'm a huge fan of a flat screen. So my 2.5yr old Samsung Note 10+ with its basic 12gb Ram and 256gb hard drive, MicroSD card, Quad HD, 45w charging, round edges, with S-Pen built in (and came with Fast Charger) is not exactly a step backwards! In fact my old S10e with a similar flat, small Full HD screen with headphone socket and sd card is superior to the S22. Crazy

So delighted to see the Note phone coming back with a different (and a much deserving name - Ultra!) Agreed, I can't see why the entry level S 22 Ultra only has 8 GB of RAM, while the higher Ultras do give 12 GB of RAM. Would have preferred that all editions of the Ultra give you 12 GB of RAM instead of only 8 GB for the Basic S22 Ultra. Either ways, as a Note phone lover for a decade, I am happy that the phone is back :) For now, my Note 9(512 GB with 8 GB of RAM) is still rocking it for me and when I do upgrade I will surely get the S 22 Ultra 1 TB!

Yea the S22 Ultra with 1 TB is a whopping $1700 IIRC. Absolute monster of a phone but boy is that expensive, inflation is really showing here but I am glad they finally included a 1 TB in their starting lineup, especially since there is no flash drive. On Samsung's website they do give you a $200 gift if you purchase, but most of the stuff isn't that good other than Galaxy Buds, wireless charging stations, and leather cases(which were sold out recently).

I am just really impressed that people still care about flagship phones these days. :) But perhaps that's because I am not a heavy phone user myself. I use a Moto One Vision which I bought 3 years back for 250EUR... I'm still very happy with it. Camera is good enough for your typical point and shoot (with sharp images and natural bokeh effects) The SoC is fast enough to open apps almost instantaneously. I basically use mine mainly for texting, calling, video calling, photograpy, filming, I also use it as a webcam (connected over USB to the computer), listen to music, watching youtube. Question is, what do you guys use your phones for, that require flagship specs?
@Johnnygga
@Johnnygga 2 жыл бұрын
Switching between heavy modern social media apps (Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter, IG, etc) on the fly back and forth is very taxing on the CPU and battery. Much more than what you’re saying you use it for. People do the social media switching ON TOP of what you describe you do with your phone. Flagships handle these tasks without breaking a sweat AND the cameras come out crystal clear for sharing and posting on social media. Plus, if you’re dating somebody it’s amazing getting nudes on and from an iPhone 13 Pro Max 😜

@@Johnnygga I mean, I use IG, Twitter, (mostly for texting oddly enough) Slack, Discord, YT, YT Studio, Google Duo, Hangouts, Gmail and Firefox and I switch between them regularly. Speed is still adequate since I have 4GB on my cheap phone. But yeah, I really don't care much for social media in the normal sense.. Hahaha, you make a compelling argument there though! xD I get to see my girl nude irl everytime I meet her so that's okay! ;) But you're right. She has a Nexus 5X still. It's 7 years old and her photos are really bad these days. But I actually think something is broken within the camera to be honest. It handles dark environments much worse than before. My photos on the other hand are insanely sharp. No complaints there.
