I have them both and performance is pretty neck and neck maybe a second faster here and there, that's a great achievement from the s20 ultra being 3 years older, performance is not the issue to me is battery life, in that department the s23 is miles better, but in performance, smoothness, display, sound, even cameras wide and ultra wide are evenly matched but the zoom game the s23 is on another level, if the s20 is good in cameras the s23 is perfect, moneywise s20 ultra around 300€ ir a Steal man, crazy deal, as good as the s23 is is not 4x or even 5x times better. I still have my old s20 ultra as a backup device with my old micro sd and still love it

@Aka Sam no SD 865 vs SD 8 gen 2 trust me the SD 865 is better more power doesn't mean better because even the most heaviest task which I'd playing genshin impact u are hitting like 1.84gHz not even 2. The SD 865 is the best when it comes to efficiency and it can play games like pubg at 90fps which the s23 ultra still can't do at all natively. The s20 ultra can play cod at 120fps while the s23 ultra is capped at 90fps way better than the 60 but if your a mobile gamer u will notice the subtle difference its noticible but it's very subtle 90fps vs 120fps but noticble for people like me certain can see a day and night difference.

@Mike they removed mst and SD card slot and the chipset was a downgrade but otherwise it was an upgrade and in terms of long javity the s21 series is promised to get 4 Android updates and 5 years of security updates meaning u still have 3-4 years of life left were the s20 series is currently on its security patch stage. These downgrades were made to save cost because the s20 ultra had a starting price of $1400 and they substantially reduced it to $1200. U got upgrades like the spen, new LTPO tech, brighter display

I had a S20u for about 3 years and it was a great phone. Wore the case out and took it off. Within a week I had shattered the screen multi times. Now I have a A53 which doesn't really compare to the S20u. I'm debating on whether to get the S23u or just use the A53 until next year and get the S24u. What do you guys think?

@Mike I didn't think it would destroy the s20 ultra, I thought it would be the new king by being able to play pubg at 90fps on med graphics or cod at full 120fps like on iPhones and iPads instead of being capped at 90fps. I'd want the s23 ultra to play at least at the same settings as the s20 ultra it's just frustrating to see 3-year-old flagship be the king like I welcome 3-4 or even 5-year-old flagships holding up but I don't want them to remain king in many areas, hopefully, in an update they will allow 90 or 120fps which is very unlikely because based on my experience these settings remain the same and updates don't usually release higher game setting for specifics. Honestly it's ridiculous considering that on top tear ios device cod runs at its original ultra fps while for androids that support ultra fps on cod is capped at 90fps, or even crazier warzone mobile on ios is available upto 60fps while android limits to 45fps and considering the SD 8G2 is much more efficient and has better GPU and the CPU being slightly better than the a15 it makes no sense why we can't play warzone at 60fps of pubg and cod at 90fps which aren't even that big on a game and considering u can play fortnite at 90fps which is the heaviest game on a mobile asides from genshin impact it makes no sense for pubg to be limited at 60fps and cod to be capped at 90fps.

@@TechthroughToni isn’t it more like the s20 ultra’s battery is just older therefore it’s not at its original capacity? They have the exact same capacity at 5000mah when brand new. I honestly think Samsung is becoming more like apple by the day, less innovations, downgrades across the board in terms of specs (less ram, very slightly worse resolution, no upgradable storage, etc.), and insanely high prices for mediocre improvement on the camera. I also personally prefer the design of the s20 Ultra. I’m hoping Samsung doesn’t just become another Apple in the following years.
