I've been looking to upgrade my iPad Pro 9.7 for a while now and thought the easy choice was the iPad Pro 11. Then I looked into the S6 and because I realised I use my tablet for productivity (documents) and media consumption (which is almost all Google based), it was a pretty easy choice to go with this instead. And I've been really happy since.

Because of the BIXBY BUTTON I GO TWO STEP FORWARD AND 3 STEP BACK. THE BIXBY BUTTON MAKES THE DEVICE LOOKS UGLY AND ANOING TO HOLD PHONE ALSO DISTURBING WHEN WANNA USE VOLUME UP & DOWN. After using my "tab" galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition (SM-P601) for more than 5 years.. i decided to upgrade to this tab S6 last month. Loving it for taking notes, multimedia, and of course the Dex Mode. Its Battery life truly impresive. Respect for that innovation! For daily phone i still use SG Note FE, samsung notes synchronized well with samsung accounts. Thats make your notes practically anywhere once you wrote n saved it. Hopefully it can last longer accompany us than my ex SM-P601. Aameen 😊

If you don’t mind windows. Samsung released the Galaxy book 2 and is smaller than a second gem iPad Pro with a 12” screen. Runs on a SD 850 chip which i have no idea how that is.

Congrats, you need to install RetroArch, a one in all game emulation app that plays everything, NES, SNES, SEGA, DREAMCAST, SONY PS 1/2, NEOGEO, etc. Also get yourself a USB-C dock so you can connect a game controller. Trust me, this is awesome.

Bought one of these when they first come out and I have to say after several months use I have not been disappointed with it's performance and usability. I also have an ipad pro but prefer the S6 as my goto device. Only downside for me is the screen size. I used to have a Samsung Note Pro with the 12.2 screen, which was great. If Samsung made the S6 with a bigger screen, it would be perfect.

Loving it. I got it at the end of a trip when i would have loved to have had it on the trip for work stuff so had to use my note 10+. If i can do what i did on my note i will be very happy. I have had a tablet this size before and love it as it fits in my handbag, a bigger screen wont. Sometimes smaller is better, especially as i want something bigger than my phone and smaller than my laptop. I am so looking foward to the mobility this will give me.

Dr Harsha I had the 12.9” pro all generations. No bending. I sold off my last 12.9” for the 11” as I just wanted it to be easier to carry. It’s a great tablet. I also had the Tab S3 for a while. Nice tablet. That Spen is fantastic and I like it better than the Apple Pencil. But the fact is iPad OS has more apps that just work better. Neither is going to replace your computer for most tasks. For me these things are just drawing devices, but it’s more a compliment device for my computer and cintiq, not a replacement. We live in an age where these devices are so fantastic. It’s now really just a personal preference. The iPads don’t bend as much as reported, but if you ever bought an Apple device you would know how easy it is to replace it at the Apple store for the most banal reasons. Besides just personal preference. The Samsung service centre is actually quite difficult to deal with her in HK, while Apple is easy. Also the resale value. When I upgrade and want to sell my old device. Apple stuff I can easily sell at a pretty good rate. The Samsung stuff loses its value faster.

Dr Harsha: If you are a Dr. you should be ashamed of yourself. Regardless, heads-up do you realize typing in all caps is an indicates YELLING and SCREAMING? All caps is much more difficult reading than all lower case type. Regarding forum etiquette all upper case typing is highly frowned upon. If you still desire typing in all caps tell us what medical journal, magazine, business annual report, business documents, newspapers, and the like use all upper case. Finally, using the term is isheep removes your credibility and professionalism; sad. Remember, there are derogatory terms used for Android users as well, never appropriate.

I love this review. In my personal opinion a lot of KZbinrs that review tech have lost touch with the general public and what I mean by that is their reviews tend to be spec heavy and they have only used the device for a week. The was a very well rounded and practical review for everyday people. I upgraded my Tab S4 with an iPad Pro became of all the hype about how great they are but for me Apple is still just too limited in it's capabilities as far as multitasking and truly being able to do what you want on your device. I've already ordered my Tab S6 and I am super excited to get it. Thanks again for your review 👍🏽

I am used to watching my videos on a 10" screen, so that part doesn't bother me. I would avoid buying the keyboard for two reasons; the small cramped typing experience and the $$$. I am currently watching this on my Tab S3 and it's still moving along. I didn't buy the keyboard for it either, and haven't missed not having one. I have, and use, a Chromebook for typing and Google Docs, and generally for the majority of my emails. The hp x360 has been great and the combination of this old S3 along with last year's x360 are working just fine for me. I admit that I wouldn't mind updating my tablet, so thank you for putting up this follow up review. I have a few unused points at Best Buy that could possibly go toward an upgrade, depending upon whether they are willing to give me something extra to trade this S3 in! :)

I used Tab S6 over Tab S5 E. So glad that I chose Tab S6 LTE with 128 GB. Smooth and fast in loading large data or apps. I bought a bluethooth headphone less than $30. Actually, like it better than headphone jack. Inserted Mocro SD card for non critical data such as movie or music. Very loght and portable. Bought a cover from Amazon around $34. I love Tab S6. If price comes down, will buy 2nd one for family.

The adhesive on my keyboard cover was awful, and it would let loose just sitting on a desk. Easily solved by a two inch stick of rubberized double sided tape placed inside the adhesive rectangle on the case. Now it’s perfect.

it's the best tablet out. Just wish it was 12inches like the note pro 12.2 from 2014. 10.5 inches is just too small. Idk why Samsung stopped making 12 inch tablets but made a midrange galaxy view tablet at 17.5 inches. Samsung gets into their own way

With what you described, tab s6 could do the job already. Not withstanding that tab s6 is cheaper, it also performs some tasks that could level apple's Ipad pro. Maybe the decision factor would be what ecosystem would you be using the Tab with. Samsung works well with it's fellow Samsung, Apple works well with it's fellow Apple products.

I think for what you need maybe an entry level Surface pro 7 is a better bet. Or even better you can get a better specced Pro 6 for that price and you’ll have a proper external monitor connector on it, instead of using dongles for the USB C.

I like the S6 although I wish they had a 4G version. the only a few things I don't like about it. 1. I hate SD card TRAYS. the S6 would be better if it just had a SLOT for convenience, and they should have gone with the SD format for more space. 2. I wish it had a second USB port and 3. tablet companies need to adopt Qi wireless charging or a charging cradle. Qi charging would be awesome! other than all the cases available truly suck, I think this is a great tablet. everything runs smooth and the display is awesome. battery life is acceptable IMO.

My tablet of choice. Picked one on Amazon UK warehouse deals for £427.50. Had no scratches so a veritable bargain. I don't like the concept of a sticking mechanism for such an expensive keyboard and avoided that. The pen groove would be fantastic if it uses 2 magnets at each end of the stylus rather than just a single one as it can get dislodged face down.

Thanks for this video. I'm thinking of getting this tablet. However, I'm concerned about burn ins on the Amoled screen. Have they "fixed" this issue to the point where it is not really an issue if I keep the brightness to 80 per cent? Also saw some complaints about the cover adhesive not holding securely on the back. Is it really an adhesive? Or a magnet? Why would Samsung use an adhesive? Anyway, thanks again for the review.

I like my tablet, however the covers offered by Samsung are junk. The basic cover at $70 is worthless. The magnet intended to hold the tablet to it are inadequate to secure it. Today I picked it up, tablet slid off onto the floor. It also repeatedly drops the s pen.

DeX is just a UI change that makes the tablet way better for multitasking for when you are doing stuff like that. There are a lot of videos on DeX if you want to learn more.

Have you compared it to the Apple iPad PRO 11"? My only gripe is 4k. Or any device that can REC 4k (e.g. most hi-end smartphones). Why have that ability if the screens aren't native 4k? Yet....

Ikr. It's like the Arri Alexa cinema cameras from the late 2000's could only shoot 1080p when Red's could shoot 4k. Arri focuses on the Quality of pixels instead of resolution which is a recipe that is needed for any good video on phones.

It really depends what you're using it for. I absolutely love this tablet for media and gaming. But there is better app support on iPad. Android is always going to lay behind apple on that regard until they give better incentive to developers to create for them. Perhaps they could take an L on play store royalties on tablet optimized apps for a certain number of years. Until development has improved

Ipads new Bionic chip is faster and slightly powerful than Tab S6 on Benchmark. But in reality the performance is no difference and I see no lags in both. But Android has more freedom and has much more features to offer such as expandable memory up to 1tb and download movie apps, etc... Out of the store.

yes it works with usb c hub, you can use a usb-c hub equipped with a headphone jack, then you can charge while using 3.6mm headset ad the same time

You have to buy the keyboard cover to get productivity done? What about wireless keyboards? There are some amazing models out there that cost not nearly as much.

@@andrewmarcdavid I agree with you. I am waiting for mine to arrive. I currently have a really nice wireless apple keyboard on my desk at work. I plan to use the small Samsung keyboard when running around, then when I sit down at my desk, I can pull it off (or not), tip-up the kickstand, and just use my full wireless mouse and keyboard that are already at my desk. I think people feel that if they get the Samsung keyboard case, they are stuck with just that. Use as many keyboards as ya like. I think this tablet deserves to have two keyboards, one for on the run, and one to do more heavy work.

I like having it both ways. When I'm using the S6 as a laptop-like thing, I use the keyboard cover. When I use it as a tablet-like thing, I tear the cover off and use the excellent kickstand (or just hold it). But when it comes to a desk, I recommend using a BT keyboard and mouse, which lets you use full-sized peripherals and you're basically using the Tab S6 as an all-in-one at that point.

It's crazy how Samsung couldn't incorporate the pen into the tablet's body like they do on the much much smaller Note series. Just use a smaller pen that fits!

Hey Andrew ...Great video !!! one quick question , I have to choose between tab s5e and tab s6 ..and the sole purpose is media consumption ...now can you please kind enough to tell me if you find any difference while watching youtube (in HDR) and netflix on tab s6 and tab s5e ? ..on papers it should but many people on Xda says that there is no difference ..thanks

Everything is perfect about Samsung Galaxy Tab s6 but I wish the aspect ratio was as apealing as in case of iPad pro. But rest assured it's the best android tab out there currently in the market without any doubt.

My tab s2 has better contrast, it's strange but the s6 is a bit brighter which tends to fade color and no it's not my tablet, I checked the display at best buy and it's the same, I think it could be the hdr in the tablet perhaps Samsung felt it needed extra brightness, I would of liked a bit more contrast.

I love my tab S6. However i have had to take it back to the store because I had a lot of issues with the S Pen connection. Have you had any issues with it?

Yep, even after the latest update. The s pen thinks it's touching the screen when hovering, the screen has various circular areas where lines wobble if i draw over them. The tablet is practically unusable for me, i'm an artist and while we've been on lockdown here in the uk, unable to go to work, I could have definitely done with a better bit of portable tech to produce digital imagery for money... it's a good tablet for people who don't draw professionally.

So the keyboard stand is stuck on with adhesive? That’s a little odd. I tend to switch out my cases on my phone and iPad fairly often and thinking this would wear out pretty quickly? Seems like a major design flaw. Wouldn’t magnets be a better option?

I'm still on the fence about getting the keyboard book cover or just the ordinary book cover. But the tablet is the best gadget purchase for me this year. Way to go samsung for keeping the android tablet light going! Thanks Andrew for the excellent review video as always. Keep up the good work!

I was similarly on the fence, but I'm glad I went keyboard cover, and the reason I think it's objectively better (at least, if you don't count price) is because it has a Surface Pro kickstand. It's so nice to be able to get the S6 at the perfect angle wherever you are and it be very stable (in a train or plane, for instance).

@@elenchus I'm not too keen on the idea that the kickstand is attached with adhesive strips. Somehow I thought it would attach magnetically. This means that once you attach it you can't take it off easily. I'm disappointed.

@@sergeboivin566 It is attached by magnets, but it has a sort of rubberized (non-sticky) material in front of the magnets. Somehow it creates an adhesive-like effect. It can be removed, and I have removed it before because I didn't get it centered perfectly, but it does attach really strongly. It's a very strange experience. But to be clear, it's not like tape or glue on the inside.

It is not adhesive or magnets, it is actually micro suction. And it is a disaster. Does not work at all for many people, check the Samsung store reviews. Also once it stops sticking it fails completely. I have had my tablet crash to the floor twice, I can't trust it. Also it seems that Samsung are aware of the issue as the cover has dissapeared from retail outlets. They should offer a recal.

Works perfectly. I can (and have) dangled my S6 by the kickstand over my couch and bounced it around and it wouldn't come off.

I love mine, but have had nothing but problems with the stand detaching from the back of the tablet and it falls over. Wish it used a strong magnet instead of adhesive.

@@divyak8574 The S6 is miles ahead. It still is a bit more expensive, but the Tab S6 has a much, much better display, if you draw, the S-Pen is included, and if you want to use it a little more like a laptop, Samsung DeX will be incredible. The only reason I would say get the iPad is if you buy crazy expensive professional apps that you might as well use a real computer for. Edit: Answer to the first question: Apple's headphones are lightning headphones. Only Apple stuff uses the port and it has lower power and data transfer speeds. You should be able to get decent USB-C earbuds for about $15-$20.

Call me crazy but I like the old small tablets. I wish there was a modern version of the Galaxy tab2 7.0 that supported the sPen.
