Mainly due to the second screen. Trust me I had the watch 4 but gave it to my mom because it's so locked to Samsung you won't get all the features like Blood pressure, or ECG with the Tic Watch no matter what Android you have should work well and you'll get full features and the ability to download what you want. Plus 36 months interest free and 28 no question return policy from Samsung. I've been using a Gear S3 Classic since 2017. For the most part I only use it as a watch and for notifications. Prior to getting the watch, I would often miss notifications if my phone was in my pants or jacket pocket. I occasionally use the "find my phone app." But that's about it. I've never had any interest in the health tracking apps and generally found them annoying. There are a bunch of watch apps I suppose I COULD use. But even at 46mm the screen isn't really large enough to make them more convenient than using my phone. I am not really sure why I would buy a more expensive LTE watch and then presumably pay for a wireless plan for it. I think the novelty of making phone calls from my watch would wear off pretty quickly. I suppose if I were a runner/jogger and didn't want to carry a phone on my runs it might be useful. But I am not and it wouldn't be. I also prefer my silver watch which I wear with a metal band. I do like the charger shown in the video though. It looks far less bulky than the one that came with the Gear S3. I don't really think a watch needs to be upgraded nearly as often as a phone. I might never upgrade it actually. My battery could probably stand to be replaced. It's supposedly relatively easy to do the replacement myself. But I would prefer to find a relatively convenient place to do it for me. Anyone know a good place in NYC? I wonder of Louis Rossman does it?
@Amusia7273 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I got a used Galaxy Watch (1) for cheap and non of these features stated in the video really entice me to upgrade. Maybe the more responsive tilt but that’s about it. I don’t really use the health app, even though I do cycle but navigation has been useful in the past.
@KyleDavis3283 жыл бұрын
I love my Gear S3 Frontier. And it's not that hard to replace the battery (iFixit has a guide, it's about the same as for a sealed back phone, just be careful about waterproofing afterwards). And I agree, these watches don't need to be upgraded all that often. Anyone needing more computing power in my opinion is using their watch wrong. The only thing that would ever pull me to an upgrade is the Google Assistant, but that's not work forking over the money for a new smart watch.

The battery lasts me about a day and a half - 2 days if I put it on battery saver. I'd have loved to be able to use my phone's wireless battery share feature (S20+) but it seems to refuse to work with the watch. The only issue I've had with it was at one point when several tiles refused to show for more than a second or so before my screen went black. Ty for answering.
@skeletor_1183 жыл бұрын
@@Mercyforme I don't actually use anything that'd utilize the GPS (nor have I looked for it) so I can't really speak on that feature. It was given an IP68 rating, which means it's labeled as "dust-tight," and is good for at least 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes (1.5m depth according to Samsung). Watch strength feels solid, I've dropped it a few times already on my tile floor, with no noticable damage. Then again, manufacturers are making current devices a lot sturdier than they used to. The wristbands feel great, in my opinion. I have to have mine set to the second loosest hole, typically, but I've had no issues with it. 1:29 It wasn't part of the Watch3 series. It was the follow up to the Galaxy Watch Active, which was launched in March 2019. The Active2 is the follow-up, launched in August 2019. The Watch3 is released in 2020. Samsung decided to do this, because they had not released a regular Watch2 in 2019 and people thought the Watch Active2 WAS the Watch2. So to not confuse those people, Samsung decided to go with the number 3.

Not sure why the FDA takes forever to do things, but Samsung did well with their blood pressure tech.

Man, smartwatches are still so underwhelming to me. Counting steps and reading notifications still look like primary functions. I don't want to carry a notification machine on my wrist all day, it just feels so unnecessary and my phone is always near me anyway so there is no point in having a watch just to get notifications on it. I'll stick to my non "smart" watch for the foreseeable future.
@NigelMelanisticSmith3 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I say that if you listen to music, or drive alot, that is where a Smartwatch shines. Liking a song requires unlocking and opening the song on a phone, my Fitbit lets me press one button and like a song, or press another button to change a playlist. And if I'm driving, I can get infor quicker than Carplay or Auto.

You're wrong. Notifications in my watch is very important for me. Even in meetings or being a way of my phone I'm still able to receive updates. "A way means different room at the same home"
@NigelMelanisticSmith3 жыл бұрын
@@leeroyjenkins0 lots of Android wear watches have physical buttons, so doing something like skipping a song is one real button on your watch rather than a fake button on your phone. Really, all the watch does is save you that few seconds of unlocking a phone, but if you repeat that phone unlock enough times in a day then the watch really does save time. I can turn off my lights with 2 buttons on my watch, which is faster than my phone or Assistant.

Great for controlling music. Great for 2FA. And it is great for quickly glancing at notifications. I do see the point that some of you are making here and there could be few nice use cases, but that's just not enough for me. 7:48 Uhh I'll have to disagree on that, since it's a personal watch, I remember the exact location of the most 10 apps around the clock, and arrange the rest to my likliness in finding them. It is perfectly normal for other users to have trouble finding anything on my own watch, but it doesn't mean it's less useful. I like the globe pattern more than the up and down list of apps simply because I can quickly locate the app icon no matter which direction I put the icon. Also, I keep my icon count to the minimum and I put the useless built-in apps to one useless corner.

I seem to be the only one who just switched from a "Gear S3 frontier" to this and I see quite a few things that are feeling not finished. The swiping on the watch does in fact not feel as responsive (without stuttering)... the App drawer can not be opened via the lower button and has to be opened with a swiping gesture... the scrolling in some apps does not work with the ring... there are nearly no watchfaces available right now... the battery seems not to be that much better than the battery on my 3-4 years old Gear S3. They really need to get the software updated fast. But tbh. I am still excited about the apps that might now be coming to Samsung watches. I find it extremely cool what kind of measurements the watch can do. My Gear S3 wasn't perfect when I got it and it became better and better from update to update... so there is a good chance that this watch will also get some pretty good updates in the near future
