The "Control the music on the phone" part was already there before, pretty useful. If Spotify or any other app (works with any media) is casting on Google Home or other stuff from the phone, you can use the crown of your watch to change the volume without even looking at it, pretty neat party trick.

I've had the gear S2 and am currently on the active 2 (over a year now) biggest drawbacks have to be google assistant and Google play features missing. Also I feel more confident wearing the active because moving parts seem bound to fail, my gear S2's rotating bezel now only is a hit or miss, sometimes it goes in the opposite direction. But the feel and usability of it is so awesome. I hope the durability on this new one is better. And the raise to wake feature on the active 2 is as hit or miss as is mentioned in the video.

Same but if not the tic watch pro 3 is the closest bet or fossil 6 whichever you prefer. I have the pixel 4a 5g and it definitely works really nice and Google Assistant is great to have it's not slow at all. WearOS 2 is usable on it and it gets amazing battery life its literally been a fully day and it's only on 50% and thats using Google assistant, checking notifications, and responding to messages. Mainly due to the second screen. Trust me I had the watch 4 but gave it to my mom because it's so locked to Samsung you won't get all the features like Blood pressure, or ECG with the Tic Watch no matter what Android you have should work well and you'll get full features and the ability to download what you want. Plus WearOS 3 will eventually come to it sometime next year.

Also, Samsung has been making better watches than anything running Wear OS for a while. Just because Linus doesn't admit that Tizen watches are a thing doesn't mean they aren't there. I've been daily driving a Gear S3 Frontier (last watch with MST payment, great party trick by the way) for years and the only reason I'd ever upgrade is that the new Wear OS on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has the Google Assistant, which apparently it doesn't right now.

Loving my Watch 4 Classic 46mm. More responsive screen than my Active 2, and a way faster processor. Of course, there are a few things that "act" a little different on the Watch 4 compared to the Active 2, but I'll get used to it. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the Ridge Sport band that I chose. Already swapped it out with some aftermarket options. The velcro nylon band, and the Apple Watch style band, were a lot better for me.

Plus 36 months interest free and 28 no question return policy from Samsung. Can honestly say I'm so happy, the battery lasts probably 2 days with good amount of use, auto workout tracking, and the sleep tracking. Plus obviously having my blood sugars on my wrist, I love it. I've been using a Gear S3 Classic since 2017. For the most part I only use it as a watch and for notifications. Prior to getting the watch, I would often miss notifications if my phone was in my pants or jacket pocket. I occasionally use the "find my phone app." But that's about it. I've never had any interest in the health tracking apps and generally found them annoying. There are a bunch of watch apps I suppose I COULD use. But even at 46mm the screen isn't really large enough to make them more convenient than using my phone. I am not really sure why I would buy a more expensive LTE watch and then presumably pay for a wireless plan for it. I think the novelty of making phone calls from my watch would wear off pretty quickly. I suppose if I were a runner/jogger and didn't want to carry a phone on my runs it might be useful. But I am not and it wouldn't be. I also prefer my silver watch which I wear with a metal band. I do like the charger shown in the video though. It looks far less bulky than the one that came with the Gear S3. I don't really think a watch needs to be upgraded nearly as often as a phone. I might never upgrade it actually. My battery could probably stand to be replaced. It's supposedly relatively easy to do the replacement myself. But I would prefer to find a relatively convenient place to do it for me. Anyone know a good place in NYC? I wonder of Louis Rossman does it?

Yeah, I got a used Galaxy Watch (1) for cheap and non of these features stated in the video really entice me to upgrade. Maybe the more responsive tilt but that’s about it. I don’t really use the health app, even though I do cycle but navigation has been useful in the past.

I love my Gear S3 Frontier. And it's not that hard to replace the battery (iFixit has a guide, it's about the same as for a sealed back phone, just be careful about waterproofing afterwards). And I agree, these watches don't need to be upgraded all that often. Anyone needing more computing power in my opinion is using their watch wrong. The only thing that would ever pull me to an upgrade is the Google Assistant, but that's not work forking over the money for a new smart watch.

I've been daily driving the Galaxy Watch 4 since the day it released and have been enjoying it. The watch barely ever hitches, and the body tracking is quite good, if aggressive (it picked up me waving my arms while talking on the phone as doing jumping jacks). The battery lasts me about a day and a half - 2 days if I put it on battery saver. I'd have loved to be able to use my phone's wireless battery share feature (S20+) but it seems to refuse to work with the watch. The only issue I've had with it was at one point when several tiles refused to show for more than a second or so before my screen went black. I couldn't look at my sleep tracking info on the watch, which I'd been trying to do. But, one restart later, and everything is fine. Overallnim very happy with it and am happy with my purchase

Hello could you answer a question about the gps tracking? Im wondering if the watch can accuratly track your speed. And if so how does it display this info? Does it have a graph you can check or maybe a speed indicator? And hows the waterproofing and strength of the watch? Does it feel like tge wristbands will snap off if they get hit by something? Ty for answering.

@skeletor_118 3 жыл бұрын
@@Mercyforme I don't actually use anything that'd utilize the GPS (nor have I looked for it) so I can't really speak on that feature. It was given an IP68 rating, which means it's labeled as "dust-tight," and is good for at least 1 meter depth for up to 30 minutes (1.5m depth according to Samsung). Watch strength feels solid, I've dropped it a few times already on my tile floor, with no noticable damage. Then again, manufacturers are making current devices a lot sturdier than they used to. The wristbands feel great, in my opinion. I have to have mine set to the second loosest hole, typically, but I've had no issues with it. Like Jake says in the video, it's comfortable enough that you can kinda forget it's even there

Battery life is what kills the samsungs for me. :( Tried the active 3, I think it was.. but 1.5 days of battery is a no go for me. Went with the garmin venu, and have been enjoying it. gps, battery is good, and while not quite as snappy.. I'm fine with that trade off for 5-ish days battery. I don't want to carry a notification machine on my wrist all day, it just feels so unnecessary and my phone is always near me anyway so there is no point in having a watch just to get notifications on it. @@leeroyjenkins0 lots of Android wear watches have physical buttons, so doing something like skipping a song is one real button on your watch rather than a fake button on your phone. It is perfectly normal for other users to have trouble finding anything on my own watch, but it doesn't mean it's less useful. I like the globe pattern more than the up and down list of apps simply because I can quickly locate the app icon no matter which direction I put the icon. Also, I keep my icon count to the minimum and I put the useless built-in apps to one useless corner.

I upgraded from the original Samsung watch to the watch 4, love it however one downside is the battery lasts around a day half where my 2018 watch I got a good 2 and half days.

I seem to be the only one who just switched from a "Gear S3 frontier" to this and I see quite a few things that are feeling not finished. The swiping on the watch does in fact not feel as responsive (without stuttering)... the App drawer can not be opened via the lower button and has to be opened with a swiping gesture... the scrolling in some apps does not work with the ring... there are nearly no watchfaces available right now... the battery seems not to be that much better than the battery on my 3-4 years old Gear S3. They really need to get the software updated fast. But tbh. I am still excited about the apps that might now be coming to Samsung watches. I find it extremely cool what kind of measurements the watch can do. My Gear S3 wasn't perfect when I got it and it became better and better from update to update... so there is a good chance that this watch will also get some pretty good updates in the near future
