Samsung Music Frame hands-on at CES 2024: A speaker to match your Frame TV

Samsung's The Frame TV has become a key part of its home entertainment lineup since the product debuted in 2017. The company has upgraded it a few times over the years, but at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Samsung revealed a new audio accessory to accompany the TV that doubles as a showcase for art and photos. The company calls it Music Frame (HW-LS60D): a wireless speaker that once pulls double duty as home decor, much like its television counterpart. This unit doesn't have a screen, though, instead it holds printed photos or art that you'll need to swap out manually. However, the basic idea is the same: a piece of home theater gear with the appearance of a picture frame.

@@nickthaskater Bluetooth output serious record turntables from the likes of Sony and Audio Technica very much do exist. It's such an insane self defeating concept but apparently though APT-X or LDAC it does sound half decent.

I thought it had a screen in front and it's wireless, it's a not for me. how can I put it on my wall if the cord is sticking out, I don't wanna put something behind just to hide the cord. missed opportunity here.

I mean, the idea is neat, but its also kinda useless? Combining a speaker with a picture frame just feels like for a very specific niche of people, you could put a Bluetooth speaker under a painting/picture frame and get the same results.

@@yaseminayan3011 One can connect the frame tv to their phone/ device via Bluetooth......the frame tv automatically goes into art mode and plays your music from your device.

I own the Frame TV with a Canton DM55 Soundbar and Canton AFC-75 Subwoofer. I feel like two of those would be a nice addition.

If it was able to replace surround speakers it would be a better buy. The price is really crazy as well. Make it cheaper and make it sound amazing on your wall and able to replace the surround speakers and I'm buying!

Did not put a screen as Samsung is testing the waters if there will be a market for this kind of produxt. If sales is good then for sure the next iteration will feature a screen. Nice concept though.

For a business scenario I would say yeah. Times I have been out at a restaurant and they play a song I don't know. But at the same time sound hound or Shazam 😆 🤷🏿

SUGGESTION: Get out of the convention hall, then haul your ass over to the Venetian Suites to have a good look at REAL audio gear. No gimmicks, no crap, just straight forward two channel analog and digital audio gear.
