It is. The screen (Glass/Digitizer) Is glued to the LCD. So the whole part needs to be replaced. If you are looking for a digitizer replacement, then you are correct; youll need to find another video for that.
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
The glass part of the screen (the digitizer) is glued to the LCD, this video shows how to replace the whole screen unit, (Glass and LCD combination)
@JerryRigEverything12 жыл бұрын
The glass part of the screen IS the digitizer. The LED and the Glass are what cost $250, and yes, if your screen is cracked you should replace both. Replacing just the glass means that you have to separate the LED from the digitizer and that is very hard to do without breaking it.
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
The screen IS what i took off. The glass and LCD are glued together and are not ment to be separated. You need to replace the unit as a whole. You can try to separate the 2 with a heat gun and a bunch of time, but it most likely wont ever work again when you're done.
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
I just searched Amazon, and etradesupply again, and both only had screens for above 220. You can always TRY separating the Glass from the LED with a heatgun and a pry tool... (there are a few videos on youtube that show how to do that.) But the success rate is pretty low.

The phone I took apart was the CDMA version. There is no sim card slot. You must have ATT or some GSM Note 2. Should be very similar except for the sim card slot.

Yes, I linked the full replacement screen in the video description. It comes with the glass AND LCD just like i show in the video.

Thank you for demonstrating how to access the charging port ... My Samsung Galaxy Note II refused to charge recently and, after trying all the charger and charging cable variations, I decided to take out the charging port board ... I saw that the port jack itself is soldered to the board by its 4 legs ... Considering that this jack experiences quite a lot of physical stresses plugging and unplugging charging cables, I had a hunch that a "cold" solder joint may have developed on one or more of the legs ... Resoldering them with a fine-tipped iron solved the charging issue without replacing the entire board ... My phone now works again with a bonus noticeable improvement in speed and screen brightness ... :-))
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
Make sure you got all the cables from the screen plugged into the motherboard correctly, and that they are plugged in all the way. Other than that... it could be anything.
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
The glass itself is glued to the LCD screen. You can try taking a blow dryer and heating it up a little and prying them apart very carefully and slowly... but to be honest it usually does not work ever again. You are better off replacing the whole screen (Digitizer and LCD combination.)

The part where i stop, and start putting everything back together was the screen. If you get a replacement screen (digitizer AND lcd combination) it will look just like what i have in the video.

You need to understand that the glass part (digitizer) is GLUED to the LCD. So when you buy the replacement screen, it will be the glass AND the LCD. Exactly what i showed in this video. The title is correct.

Your LCD is dead. As long as the screen isnt physically cracked Sprint should still take care of you. So talk to a corporate store. Once it is cracked though, youll have to get the replacement screen off amazon (through the link in the video description.)
@davidhondel489511 жыл бұрын
Thanks for making this, it was excellent. Only caveat that I found is that the replacement screen may not come with the headphone jack, light sensor and other parts, so for some folks, there are a few more steps.

@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
I should have explained better. The screen is made up of the Glass AND LCD. (2 parts that are glued together) Usually they are replaced as a unit. I was incorrect in assuming that most people would realize this. I have since made another video where I replace JUST the glass on the Note 2. I posted it about a month ago if you search my other videos. Hopefully It will help you get those 10 minutes of your life back.

At about the 4:18 mark you mention the wire running down the left side next to the s-pen. It is connected to a small circuit board affixed with a small black screw. What is this module and what would happen if I eliminate it?
@JerryRigEverything11 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I am not sure. An educated guess would say it has something to do with the s-pen, and eliminating it would probably cause errors with the phone. (freezing and the like)

JerryRigEverything The reason I ask is, I only see it on the Sprint model. The others don't have it. Could it be something with the CDMA vs GSM?

Hi, great video! I have a question; If the charger port is broken can you still boot your Galaxy Note 2 with a full charged battery from an other Galaxy Note 2? Because my note 2 is dead and i try to find out if I have to change the complete motherboard or only the part of the charger port...

Yup, if you have some other way of charging the battery (like an external charger) than you will be able to use your phone just fine.

JerryRigEverything I just dropped my galaxy note 2 and the screen is cracked mist of the damage is at the top but also have fine cracked class in the middle and bottom so if i was to swipe my hand over the top fine glass would cut me. I put my old outerbox on it just to use the phone and to prevent more damage. Whats my best way of going about it to replace the screen? The phone is still working fine other than the screen cracked. I see diffrent videos where people are using diffrent stuff to repair a phone.
