@joe-js6hy you need to plug in speakers using an aux cable to get sound if you're using a dp or hdmi cable. This does not have built-in speakers.

I finally upgraded my pc ive had since 2016 so that ment also a new monitor since in still stuck on a 60hz tv screen lol. I found the g5 for 400 euro here in the Netherlands and just went with it. I was a bit sceptical reading some reviews about its brightness but honestly coming from a 60hz screen i doubt ill care so much. I already blew over 2.5k on the pc alone so i didn't wanna overblown it too much with a expensive monitor. Excited to see it in action soon! Maybe in a year or so ill upgrade to oled if i really enjoy the experience but burn in is still definitely something im unsure about. Id hate to have to buy a new monitor every other year because of it. Anyways excellent review sir!

Okay so buying a curved monitor changes how you view things (because they are not straight across) so my first thought is get the flat panel for design. But the flat panel is less imersive for gaming. So I'd say buy the curved monitor with the understanding it might be too curved. Or get the flat panel to be safe. But I'm definitely obsessed with curved monitors for all aspects of use.

This monitor looks better but has a bad stand and is older. I will always buy a Samsung monitor over other monitors tho. The TUF has way more gaming settings and better specs. So if you need to really customize your monitor for gaming the TUF is better. The TUF has one of the best stands on the market.

Yeah, you got a great monitor! Just make sure you do your homework and Google "PS5 and Ultra-Wide Monitors." They don't look the same as regular (16:9) monitors on the PS5.

I can set resolution up to 2160p on the ps5 pro. Options are either 60hz or 100hz Unable to activate freesync On wide mode it use the full screen but it is very stretched. For some people it may be too much. There are 9 screen size options ranging from wide(full screen but streched a lot) 17" and 19" 4:3....19" and 22" 16:10....21.5" 23" and 27" 16:9....29" 21:9....these are all labeled as "wide settings" If you're okay not using the full monitor you can set it to the resolution the ps5 puts out naturally but I'd rather be using the full screen. Personally I can't tell a huge difference and I doubt you'll be able to if you're using the full screen with the image stretched. I have a Toshiba 43" tv that can put out similar results, this was an okay purchase overall. It could be fun for racing games, single player horror games is my main thing so I'll be able to enjoy those for sure. I've tried dead space, silent hill 2, Callisto protocol, dead by daylight and god of war ragnarok. Again it's stretched heavy and you can tell in the 3rd person over the shoulder type games. If you want the image not stretched youre gonna be missing out on 20-30% of the screen For driving or sports games maybe not. It puts out better hertz than my tv. Tv goes to 2160p, monitor goes to 3440p... For $250 it's good, can be used for more than gaming but you're limited to 1 hdmi port and one display port. There's a port on the back for aux if you want to use wired headphones or a speaker of some sort It's not super bright either. Does not support VRR. Probably good for pc, alright for ps5. Either make use of it for console gaming AND work/computer programs or get a tv. I can't say the difference is is huge compared to my tv, but it's cool because it's curved right? Lol. If limited space for a tv it's good, price for $250 good but maybe not compared to some other tv deals as of this comment. I saw somewhere tho can get a usb drive and get some kind of update from a Samsung website to update the monitor...this is out of my realm of knowledge tho. I was a comfy console and flat tv gamer until this afternoon. Good luck!

Nice review! - Some gaming monitors have built in speakers like the SoundBar on HUAWEI MateView GT 34' and some models of the Odyssey also have built in speakers and are still called monitors not TVs

Samsung panels will look better. They have some of the best colors and blacks. Other panels may seem better on paper, but they don't look as good in real life. Buy a Samsung panel for best image quality.

If you haven't done this already you might try setting your graphics card resolution to the resolution of the monitor...might fix some quirks.

Samsung has a better panel. But the G5 is older as it was made in 2020 so the LG has a newer panel with current tech.

Yeah, the G5 will look better but know it's an older monitor June 2021 vs July 2023 for the S6 so the S6 has a few newer things under the hood. Also, the S6 has a fully adjusted stand, making it much better.

I've just been for a good bit of years racking my brain about getting a monitor but I've also been content with my 2012 32-in Samsung TV. So it's been hard to say Well I don't know is it worth it I don't know but either way today I bet the bullet and we'll see. I just wish that I was going to pay for it with cash but then decided to just use affirm. But like the people in the store don't seem to know how it works and I've used it before but the problem is is that I have to pay for it through their website and then I have to wait like two to three hours even if I'm in the store.... 🤷‍♀️ But the reviews for this monitor seem to be very negative for the most part with some very minor positives. I haven't listened to what you said yet but either way I'm going to. I suppose I shouldn't blind by but my Samsung TV you know it's still a really great TV from 2012 and I think the monitor I have from years ago like 2008? I think it still works it's in storage right now though and it's definitely not for modern usage

The Samsung is great for gaming, which looks amazing, but the stand is not so good. Doesn't move around at all it's in a fixed height. The Asus has more gaming settings and a way better stand that moves all over the place. The Asus also looks good when you get the settings just right. But the Odyssey looks better.
