Love your content! Really appreciate this video! I hope I'm not a bother but just a quick question for you. I have a Legion 7i laptop with a 4070. Do you think the Alienware 360hz OLED would be wasted on me? Im not if I have enough power to push past 240 but that monitor does look fantastic. Lastly, if you were to get it, would you just order it now or do you think there's a decent chance for a thanksgiving/blackfriday deal? thankyou in advance. wishing you a great weekend
@PCBuilderChannelАй бұрын
Thank you for the super thanks!! So the Laptop 4070 performs closer to a 4060 Ti desktop GPU, so unless you are playing very easy to run titles like CS2 / Valorant / Overwatch 2, you'll struggle to hit over 240hz even at competitive settings. So I wouldn't overspend, but the monitor will likely outlive your laptop so keep that in mind. In terms of when the best deals occur, it's hard to say. Likely the week of Black Friday but sometimes we see the best deals on the early black friday offers.
@ZSonnenblickАй бұрын
@@PCBuilderChannel ah appreciate the honest reply, thanks! and my pleasure! I had a feeling the 4070 in the laptop couldnt possibly have the same performance as the pc (desktop) 4070. But really appreciate you pointing out which gpu it does compare to. also great point about the monitor life. Its funny you say that, as I pretty much only play overwatch2 (maybe fortnite once in a while). My only followup question though, for clarity, would you no longer look at OLEDs? Do OLEDs just require more performance than what my laptop can offer? or were you mainly just referring to the ability to push 240+ frames. If I was really committed to getting an OLED, would you opt for one of the alternatives that are a tiny bit less pricey or at that point, if Im already spending big, would you say its worth it to spend the extra 100-200 to get the alienware given how great it is overall?
@lvincent884326 күн бұрын
@@ZSonnenblick He was referring to the refresh rate, not OLEDs so if you are set on an OLED than the Alienware is a good choice, just be aware you won't take advantage of it's high refresh rate so if you can find a significantly cheaper OLED with a lower refresh rate the money saved could go to better uses.

I picked up a Dell G2724D (165Hz, 1440p) back in March and it has been fantastic for gaming. It retails for $300, but I snagged it for $200 and I'm blown away by how good it is. @Jdogg40896 ай бұрын
If I was looking for a 1440p monitor under $300, I'd really have my eyes on the AOC miniled. That 1000 not peak HDR brightness combined with the local dimming zones just make it a different experience from other monitors in that price point. If you are in a region that has these monitors more expensive than yeah, that's unfortunate. So I personally don't see any reason to go for the Dell unless it's a fair amount cheaper and you can't afford the AOC or if your country has higher prices for tech like in Europe.

This video was literally uploaded at *THE* perfect time! I've been looking for a new (27"/1440p/240HZ/preferably curved but not necessary) monitor for quite a while now but I'm not sure if the two I found are the best in my budget range. (I'm a price to performance kinda guy) First pick would be the MSI G274QPX, second LG 27GR83Q. My max. budget is 400€. They're both just a bit under 400€. I mostly play (competitive) FPS shooters. I appreciate some opinions/recommendations for this monitor category👍(since the monitor is usually the longest lasting equipment in a PC setup, newbies like me don't want to make a "wrong" purchase😁)

I would say the MSI as I've seen good reviews on it.

I have a question, in the video you say that WOLED are usually matte finish. However the XG27AQDMG says glossy WOLED panel in the description. Is this one glossy as a one off and not the norm for WOLED? I would prefer a glossy one so I was wondering if the WOLED technology has matte coating on top despite saying glossy WOLED panel in the description

I have a Dell 3400x1440 IPS monitor at 60Hz driven by a 6750XT or a 2070 Super for non-gaming tasks and an Alienware 120Hz driven by a 6800XT for no-RT gaming.
