Highly recommend qn91b 65" I am already after 1 month of testing it. For me it is great while using in dark room or bright room. Black levels are really good, brightness is amazing, gaming is on other level as well. Really in majority of scenes difference is minimal comparing to s95b (only in really really dark scenes) which my colleague own since few months. Only downside for me is little blooming effect in scenes where you see one source of light/ subtitles on dark screen, it gets worse while watching it from bigger angles, however it is not big issue because I am always sitting almost in front of the screen. Additionally no burn in risk for me was one of major factors to choose it over LG OLED C2 which was exactly at same price that time in store. Additionally, reflections in bright store area were too noticeable on LG as I could see myself almost like in the mirror on the screen, even on maximum brightness level. Thanks to staff who presented it on different brightness level on both TV's. Tizen is average but enough. I am using this tv for gaming on XSX/PS4, HD cable tv, Netflix, HBO, sports watching. I Didn't spot any issues on any of above usage. Didn't spot any downsides in terms of quality of panel, no dead pixels etc ... In general I was a little bit afraid of Samsung's quality control but mine is totally fine. Btw. Love your videos. Cheers from Poland

I bought my QN90B 65” about a month ago and are very happy myself. I was wondering if you’ve updated your firmware? Since installing my panel has been fully offline no Wi-Fi or LAN connection. Due to all the warnings I’ve been cautious. The picture is fantastic to me and I see no reason to mess with perfection unless I’m missing something? Figured I’d ask about your experience thus far, Thanks in advance.😎

Great review FOMO, I am glad you got to see the QN90B without the issues like I did, interesting that your first one was a hardware failure that makes sense from what you showed. And KG, Consumer Reports agrees with your conclusion that the QN90B is the "top non-OLED TV this year", because on the online site for Consumer Reports (for those who have paid subscriptions to that site), the test results of 65 inch 2022 and 2021 model year TVs, have the 65 inch QN90B out scoring all of the other non-OLED TVs, among the dozens of 65 inch models tested, including the Sony 65" X95K.

@John John, the first sentence of your post "Not when it comes to realistic picture I have both Sony blows your way for real contact don’t watch black bars" may make some sense to you, but would you please rewrite that statement in a more coherent way that clearly communicates your meaning to a well educated American, such as yours truly. I mean, for example, what does your phrase "I have both Sony blows your way for real contact" actually mean? And is your statement "I have both Sony" supposed to indicate to readers that you actually have both Sony TVs among 2 different unnamed Sony models? I'm sorry, but it really is difficult to figure out the precise meaning of whatever the exact point is that you were trying to make.

@Stop The FOMO I've been telling myself this. Yes OLEDs have the best Blacks, but when we're watching content are we watching black background scenes with fruits falling down in slow motion? No, most content we watch is colored. However OLEDs still have the better viewing angles but are we really watching tvs from the side? What I also think is that OLEDs still have better detail than Mini Leds. Anyways I already bought a 55" Samsung S95B for $1530 on Amazon Prime Day a few days ago. I didn’t think it would be by so much initially either, but the more you look at it the worse the Qn90b, as good as it is, starts to look. It’s brighter, but outside of that the contrast is much worse, and the color luminance especially shows itself on the S95b to the point where the Qn90b looks washed out. Hard choice, for our media room I’d definitely need a 75”+ TV, it’s main use would be gaming, all platforms, and family movie nights. The room can be as bright or dark as I need it to be considering 4 windows with interior shutters & blackout curtains when needed (so not really an issue). I do fear burn in (especially if it’s left on & paused), and we are sensitive (can’t stand the soap opera effect). So I guess it’s pick one or the other & live with it. I’d prefer 2-3k over 4-5k in price obviously. Either way this will be our first jump into 4K so should be a great improvement, just want to make sure we get at least 5years of enjoyment out of it.

I have an OLED in my living room. Love it. Best viewing experience We've ever had for both TV and Movies. Having said that, I would never buy an OLED for a gaming TV. People can say whatever they want about how OLEDs have improved as far as image retention and burn in but the fact remains that it's still a real risk regardless. No way would I spend $1500-$2000 on an OLED TV if it was also going to be a gaming TV. Maybe if I was rich and could splurge for a new TV every 3-4 years but I need my TVs to last more than 5 years. The Samsung would be my choice for gaming just for piece of mind. It's a fantastic TV and I doubt anyone would have any regrets with it for a gaming TV.

Wow I have the opposite setup. A 48” C1 for my pc and getting a 75” QN90B for living room. The reason is the living room is hard to light control because it’s a central part of the house while my pc is in my bedroom which is easy to light control. Had it for 2 years now and using it in the worst case scenario with TPC (brightness turned on on static images was very annoying on pc) turned completely off. Still no hint of burn in yet, 1200 hours of on time. If you are console gaming it’s no problem. Maybe for pcs there could problems but I haven’t encounter any yet. I do have a live wallpaper with wallpaper engine and that’s the only protection I have

@@theholypopechodeii4367 Looks great. It works perfect in that environment. I think an OLED would just be too reflective. In a bedroom it works great which is why I use one for my PC, but the living room is open space with a lot of windows. Also definitely prefer the colours on it as opposed to an OLED. The image feels more alive for sure especially with the high brightness. But I would definitely not use it as a PC monitor because of its slow response times and blooming around icons. It doesn't have a noticeable bloom on videos though. These don't really affect movie content which is why it's great for a living room/home cinema setup. I think this was the right choice for my situation, but if you can fully light control a room, a QD OLED is probably still the best. Also got really lucky with the panel lottery. Got an extremely clean panel. It's as clean as my C1 which is a massive bonus as bad DSE can suck a lot for sports.
@silverwatchdog
@silverwatchdog Жыл бұрын
@@theholypopechodeii4367 I didn't say it had bad blooming. It's completely imperceivable in most content, it's just super obvious around white icons on a black background. It does give great contrast for sure. And its response times are good, but they aren't good enough for me, but once you see OLED instant response times on a PC it's no competition. But the QN90B does have a look about it where it does make you feel like you are looking out a window, which sometimes an OLED doesn't have.

Please stop with recommending TVs with the rainbow effect for bright rooms. It's introducing screen wide color artifacts just to cut down on a little glare. These panels should be getting a hard Fail for reflection handling. The bigger the screen, the worse it gets.

That’s weird. The c1 doesn’t flicker with VRR, unless you encounter a massive stutter suddenly. I am taking like averaging 100fps and then it dropping to 10fps the next frame. It will take a frame or 2 to adjust if the frame rate swings wildly. However there is a bug with gsync that causes randomly colour flashes and screen blanks with rtx 3000 gpus but it’s fixed by just restarting the driver with windows alt b, or by disabling and renabling gsync in the game optimiser. It’s quite rare though and only happens 1/50 times you turn on your pc. Hopefully they fix it because it never happened before the C2 was launched.

I'm hoping Sony improves with the next year X95L version. More zones, better blooming control and of course the new MediaTek Chip "Pentonic 2000" that would add everything. Dolby vision 120hz, 4 HDMI 2.1 and so on. With the Sony processing it would be the best. Even now the X95K is the best except the blooming is too strong in some instances. If they can fix that, it would be amazing. Will also be interesting to see how the QN90C next year will do. How much more can they even improve it? Besides even better processing and more zones of which they don't seem to do.

I bought a QN82Q900R in 2020. I couldn't have it installed due to COVID and when it was installed, it lasted a whole 2 days. I bought it online and the store was asking to pay shipping back and Samsung refused to exchange it for the similar model, the QN82Q900T since the QN82Q900R was a clearance model. I fought about 2 months for having it exchange and Samsung ALWAYS refused. I accepted the TV to be repaired by a technician. They replaced the main board, and the TV only lasted 2 months. I knew this was going to happen so i was super pissed. Not the first time I troubleshoot and when something is DOA, you don't get it fixed, you get it replaced or it would just die again. Anyway, the technician is coming back and this time they replaced the main board and the whole screen since the powerboard is fixed to it. Since this was a power related issue, I asked the connectbox to be exchanged at the same time. The technician had to call Samsung to have the approbation to do so because Samsung only authorize the technicians to replace a SINGLE part per visit. In the end, the only parts on my TV that were not exchanged are the speakers and the cover panel... Good job Samsung... If you can avoid Samsung customer support, just do it. If you buy a big TV online, make sure it is from a store that will pay for back shipping. Return your TV to the store and don't bother with Samsung customer support. I wasted probably 6 hours on the phone with them if not more.

I have this TV and it is ELITE. Blacks are black and to me, I'm not a TV guru, I can't notice the difference between OLED and this. The three issues I have are Tizen sucks Wifi / ethernet is still throttled st 100mbps Viewing angle isn't great (although this is irrelevant to me). A fix to some of the above ... I use the fire stick max 4k and get 250mbps speeds and it gives me access to heaps more apps - bit annoying to toggle between the two but Firestick makes it pretty easy. Blooming is good, like you get blooming but it's only around titles and white text on black mainly. Oh also I got the 85" and in Australia we have NO 4k content so probably would have done. 75" in hind site just for better picture. 10/10 TV that is extremely future proof

When Rtings says the A actually slightly beats the B overall it makes zero sense to pick the B... I got the 85" A for $2300 and am really impressed! Firmware updates have really helped, using High standard dimming doesn't hurt blacks much at all, and only have to raise gamma and shadow detail 1 notch at the most to get a great pic even with very dark content, and that still keeps great overall black levels. No Dolby Vision is no big deal at all on a high end mini LED when you have so much brightness with so much tight control of it they can set a single min and max brightness level for the whole title and be effective without needing per scene variance.

Dolby Vision is a deal breaker. Majority of the 4K UHD Blu-ray A titles are encoded in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Dolby Vision is a standard. I understand that Sony's implementations aren't perfect, but I definitely see a difference in the shadow detail compared to regular HDR10. Samsung refuses to implement it for reasons that I don't understand. Plus, on a TV this expensive, the fact they have a Local Dimming failure is ridiculous. No way I'm buying a Samsung TV.
