If the port strike continues on the East Coast and the West Coast experiences a "sympathetic shut down", you can pretty much guarantee the prices of Tvs to double, maybe triple of over the next 3-6 months, assuming there will be tvs to buy in the first place. Dolby Vision is nice but not a dealbreaker in any regard. Go into a retail store and look at a Samsung S90D in person and tell me that it isn’t an amazing TV. Samsung is the number 1 one TV brand despite not having DV. Must say something about the quality of their products.

@Outrider4222 күн бұрын
LCD panels fail. LEDs fail. A lot. Every single mini LED is a potential failure point in such a TV. And they can fail in just couple years or less. So to in order to avoid a vastly exaggerated issue like burn in you are willing to accept inferior image quality while still facing potential LED failures. Ok then.

Obviously in a week when I get the money I will take whichever is still at $499 but in case they are both at that price point is the QM7 still the better choice? They are both basically the same but the Hisense has more settings from what I have seen in reviews. TCL seems to have colors that pop more. Hisense is a bit brighter but coming from a TV that caps out at around 250 cd/m2 either will be a huge improvement. I have heard both are a panel lottery but that TCL has less chance of a poor quality panel.

Do you notice any of that and if so is the improved viewing angle worth the comprise in loss of contrast? Pick your poison I guess. Hi fomo, I hope you can answer my question, in size 83-85 which one has better overall image sharpness? G4 or bravia 9? Is that difference in sharpness very noticeable?
@stopthefomo3 күн бұрын
LG G4 because infinite contrast and pixel level control - not very noticeable unless you're sitting 7 feet from 77" TV but it's there

@@stopthefomo Fomo Thank you very much for the answer, I will go for G4 as sharpness is very important to me

I just recommended my dad to get the Samsung s90d Qd-OLED because his Samsung plasma for 2016 TV is starting to have issues with the power supply clicking on and off either and I notice that the picture flickers in and out crating this slight stuck screen may have someone look at it but it may have to do with the phosphorus or power consumption let me know

I see you have a thing for Samsung…. Personally, I’m not a Samsung guy. I’ve seen their QD-OLED while at Best Buy and the picture looked incredibly fake to me. The colors were so bright they were damn near searing my eyes. Not to mention no Dolby Vision simply because Samsung refuses to pay for the license. Samsung also tends to have hardware failures… Thanks to an IGN article, I looked at TVs yesterday and actually bought the 77” LG C4 for $2,200 down from $3,500! I used to have a C9 55” before I upgraded to a 77” A80J and honestly I miss the color reproduction of LG. My in-law has my old C9 and every time I see it I just prefer the colors on that TV even to my A80J. Can’t wait to receive the C4 especially for what I paid for it! I just cannot justify spending over $3,000 on a TV…

The TCL QM7 is $498 on amazon today. Amazing price. Would you pick the 55” TCL mini LED over the LG OLED?
@stopthefomoАй бұрын
LG B4 is 2X the price so unless you need the gaming extras, it’s not 2X better for HDR streaming and movies and definitely not as bright for sports
@baktwista21 күн бұрын
@@stopthefomoagreed! I like it a lot, still can’t believe it was only $500. Now I’m also considering the TCL QM8 85” for Black Friday. Any other 85” TVs that you’d go toe to toe with the TCL? From the research I’ve done, it seems Mini LED is the best option before jumping to OLED.

Hi FOMO. I am looking at an LG C4 and Samsung S90d. I noticed that the 83 inch LG C4 wasn't on your list in the 83 to 85 inch tv's. Also I am looking at the Samsung S90d in the 83 inch as well. Can you tell me the difference between the S90d in the 77 inch versus the 83 inch and would you select an 83 inch LG C4 or the Samsung S90d or the Samsung QN 90d. use case is streaming movies, sports and minimal gaming. We have a lot of ambient light in our tv room and we'll be off centered between 10 and 20 degrees in watching TV. Don't have the $$$ to purchase an LG G4. Thank you for the 2024 TV Buying guide and expertise. I have learned a lot. Thank you.

83" S90C is so close to the C4 but $1000 cheaper so I wouldn't personally pay that premium for minor differences - S90D at 83" will be under $3000 by the end of the year. HOWEVER, 77" S90D is a better OLED technology using QD-OLED (than the 83" S90C/D) and if you're not too far, it will give you brighter images/HDR/gaming than the 77" C4. 77" S90D is so close to the G4 in performance and beats it in most ways relating to color so I'd get the S90D 77" without hesitation.

Hi FOMO!! Well, I purchased the 77" S90D and I couldn't be happier!! What an amazing picture. Before the purchase, I watched Brian compare Sony's 83" A80L to the Samsung S90d and could see the differences in which the 83" A80L succeeded in, but I didn't have the $$$. For the image quality, color, etc. at $2,499 with an extra $200 off it just made sense. Plus I am looking down the road to see what comes out of CES and to see what Panasonic will do in the next two to three years. Thank you FOMO for all your time, input and help!!

I have a 65-inch Q6 2023 model. I've had it for a year, and so far, no problems with it. I've seen the Samsung you're referring to, and just my opinion. For what you're getting with the TCL vs that Samsung model the TCL is the better value. Once you get the TCL dial in to your liking it produces a great picture imo. Nowadays nothing is made like it used to be. Get the TCL I think you'll be good with that and if you don't like it return it and get the Samsung.

Im in the same boat! I'm looking at the s90d , the lgc4, and the Samsung 800c 8k neo.... but i need to just go to Best Buy to see everything in person! But from what I'm reading and hearing, the majority of people are saying the s90d is the one you want! But I've seen a lot of people say that the lgc4 is the way to go! I dont know what to do!
@gothamknightpr986418 күн бұрын
@ i did ended up getting the 77inch s90d is the picture quality and brightness are great! You do have to do Some changes to make it look how you want it… I will say for gaming is just incredible! Colors and brightness in games is just Soo good! In movies is Good too but I feel I need to do more adjusting to it! I done the setting that the profesional advise you to do but even that I feel like I can do better lol is just me at that point lol I’m too picky! Lol. One thing I will say and is the thing that got me over thinking if I got the right tv is that I Know for sure the LG G4 has the better processor! And it just makes everything in movies look way natural and smoother and I’m talking about more about the motion is much clear.. but other than that the S90D is just amazing!! And make sure you choose the right size to make sure you have the QD and not the Woled.. it make a difference…
@asoto71818 күн бұрын
@gothamknightpr9864 how do I know which is which, I see people saying that all the time.. if I get the s90d, aren't they all qd? Or is there a separate one that is woled? I like the g4 alot but I'm not dropping over 3 racks for the 77 inch that's why I was thinking the c4 cause it's around 2100.. this shit is so stressful, I wanna make the right decision!

Are you not a fan of the LG C3 or C4? Those are some of the models I was looking into at the 65-77” size models.
@stopthefomoАй бұрын
No because the S90C and S90D are same or cheaper at the same size and are simply better TVs than the C3/C4. For value, I'd get the LG B4 over the C4. The C3 had worse picture processing than the C4 but the C4 (althoug GOOD TV) is simply too expensive compared to the slightly better S90D/C that uses the more advanced QD-OLED panel
