I’m in the uk and have been an appliance engineer for 35 years but never done refrigeration. Your videos are so informative and inspiring and I’m now doing refrigeration as there nobody in my area doing them so thank you!…..I just always need to convert the degF to degC.

Good stuff but that heated tube on the auger is actually the drain tube. Its heated so in harvest the ice maker heater has moisture that can drain out.
@TMMApplianceRepair Жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct, it is the drain tube I didn't look at it close enough, and students took it apart. Thanks for the correction

Best explanation of how and why I have heard. Thanks for explaining the board logic in different conditions. I own one of these and have had several thermistors go bad!
@mauricelinton5867 Жыл бұрын
The thermistor on the auger motor is under the fan. That bad boy fails, a lot of folks go with the ice maker repair kit. A lot of the time it’s actually the auger thermistor, chk ohms, will be open. When you are doing an ice maker repair kit it’s absolutely imperative to puller out the auger motor and clear all of the ice around the fan.
@LibertyOrGTHO Жыл бұрын
The ice room temp sensor is on the auger motor assembly. The harvest/icemaker temp sensor is in the head of the ice maker. Also, the freezer only has two thermistors, the one thing you pointed to was a thermal fuse packet (two red wires).

Another great video from the Master Lecturer Richard Zilka, now if we can just have that one guy to keep his mouth shut while you are explaining. The whole time he's just parroting what you have just said.

Great teaching. Thanks! I don't know if you can answer this for me, but I bought a new Samsung Bespoke side by side fridge/freezer. The temp control goes down to 34 in the fridge, but it is not 34. It is closer to 38-40. The freezer gets WAY cold...so much so, that I turn it as high as it goes (to 5 degrees), yet it will still freeze a bottle of tequila 🙂Meanwhile, the fridge is turned as low as it can go, but things just arent cold enough. Is there an easy way to be able to get the fridge colder without taking it apart and replacing any of the control thermistors?

First of all thanks for your videos they are very informative. I appreciate it however, I wanted to know how I can get a hold of you. I have a Samsung five door dual evaporator with a step valve. that it had a very unique problem. It took me a week to figure it out. I would love to share my revelation.

Excellent instruction. My Samsung started freezing milk and vegetables in the refrigerator compartment. Fridge is set to 34 degrees. Temp in the fridge compartment ranges varies from 33 to as high as 41. Have purchased, but not yet installed the 3 fridge compartment thermistors. Do thermistors suddenly go bad. I’m surprised by the wide range around 34 degrees that the fridge compartment temperature fluctuates. Is it just the thermistors or can something else cause this. Thank you.
@riz658 ай бұрын
Yes thermisters fail, some manufacturers seem to have more issues with them than others, best way to accuratley test is fill cup with ice to the top then, top off with water. This is as close to 32degrees as you can get. Then test swnsor and see what 32degrees should read.

My samsung cools the "ice room" by a squirrel cage fan in the freezer section that pushes cold air up and over the ice maker. There are no evap coils on the ice maker, there is an electrical heat loop to melt the adjesion of the ice to the cube tray. This has worked flawlessly for 13 years, now the freezer is not getting cold enough. Im going to add 134 and see what happens. I already did everything else. New temp sensors, new fan motors etc. BTW the swuirrel cage fan runs at 2950 rpm the others 2550rpm.

I have a question I have been struggling with . I have samsung fridge rf27cg5900sr/aa family hub fridge freezer and the temperature that it displays is not the correct temperature! It says that the freezer is 0 or what you set it to but it is not that temperature in freezer the temperature will say it changes but freezer never completely freezes . It all started with Icemakers stopped making ice in freezer then started getting worse. The fridge stays cold and still makes ice . I was leaning towards control board bad ?
@TomDierkes Жыл бұрын
The icemaker wants to be - 14* when making ice. If the icemaker is defective and the icemaker cannot get cold enough, the compressor keeps on going. Sometimes we answer a call with the refrigerator Evaporator drain froze up. If we fail to identify the problem with the ice maker, we may be back with an refrigerator Evaporator problem in a couple months. If the refrigerator coolant never stops, the evaporator will never defrost.

Samsung rf18hfenbsr. Both evaporator fans are not working. Bench tested fine. Replaced control board. Still not working. Evaporators both get evenly frosted? Could thermistor in one cause both not to run? Its got me scratching my head.

I have a Samsung RF4267HARS/XAA keeps showing 22E start up Failure. The Coils are NOT Iced, I have replaced ALL the Fans, Thermistors, Tried Both the Main Board and The other control board as well, the only issue I see is that the CONDENSER FAN does not come on right away, and also I get a Slight Power Arc when Plugging it in. But if I Clear the Code out, it will Run just fine, 36° Fridge 0° Freezer, Flex Zone Works ETC In the Morning the Compessor shuts off when at Correct Temps, and comes back on WITH the Fan when Called for at this point. The Defrost Heater appears to be working fine ETC, the Water and Ice works as well, I'm at a loss with this thing, but like I said, I have a Slight Arc Plugging In, and AT FIRST the Condenser Fan DOES NOT come on. The Evap Fan Works in the Fridge & Freezer, So does the push fan for the Ice Maker and Flex Zone. Any Idea of What could be Wrong ? This all started at Thanksgiving, I've tested and Tried Everything. I'll gladly pay you for the Help.

Hi Mr Richard, I see in the circuit diagram of the refrigerators there is a defrost heater (capacity 150w) and heater strip (capacity 8W), the heater strip is mounted inside the refrigerator compartments, can you explain the effect of heater strip? Thanks
@2ManyM0wers6 ай бұрын
Heater strip is likely the vertical bar that seals the two doors together in the center. Those have very subtle heaters inside to keep frost from sticking the seals of the door to the frame.

Just found your channel--- can't thank yall enough--- currently been dealing with an Elders KENMORE Elite 795.71023.010 tried replacing capacitor- still no cooling #code22 such a horrorshow trying to seek out swapping starter relay only to find its IN the board--- the video discussing how to test the corresponding PCB Board --- gave me a bit more direction.. and hope--- Still at it! THANK YOU🤜🤛🍻👍
@riz65 Жыл бұрын
The model number starting with 795, means it's an LG manufactured refrigerator and the co.pressor is probably a linear compressor. This is most likely the fault. I so jot think a capacitor would help fix it. Should be checked propaerly
@wherezwaldoz2380 Жыл бұрын
@riz65 Right- it is a linear compressor- tested the contacts on it and fell within range ~7.5 --- A little background- Fridge was running excellent until it was hooked up to a generator- and while plugged in-- the generator failed -stopped producing power - I'll be testing the board to see if that's the issue--as you said likely compressor- Everything else works-- Compressor comes on but doesn't "run" only pulling 0.5amps and less than 40watts
@riz65 Жыл бұрын
@wherezwaldoz2380 refrigerators with invertes don't not respond well to generators as the voltage can harm some boards. If it is running pressure tests would need to be made to determine if it is inefficient.

On variable speed compressors, do any run constant?
@riz65 Жыл бұрын
I dont think they run 100%but have heard that they do run much more than a standard compressor. Remember they use less electricity and run slower. They do have to shut off for defrost, and when temp in both sections are reached.
