@TechWithKG5 ай бұрын
Biggest separator is price and what features you need out of the TV because they pretty much trade blows I’d say the Bravia 9 has more brightness capabilities but QN900D wins in color especially when the TV is pushed in brightness. QN900D is better for gaming I like Bravia 9 slightly better for movies especially with the built in sound performance. QN900D has better sharpness and clarity, B9 has more brightness. It’s going to come down to the features you need I’d say qn900d is a more niche TV for specific buyers.

@TechWithKG3 ай бұрын
what size is the QN900D? They are both great like you said but you are in a brighter room so id say go with the S95D because the screen coating I think its great for that unless you have lights directly hitting the TV that will reflect in a spread diffused light. The QN900D has a more reflective screen. Not knowing how bright your room is its hard to say. I think the S95D is the better overall TV though because of QD-OLED technology.
@alexx19173 ай бұрын
@@TechWithKG it’s going to have to be a 75 inch qn900d since 85 would be too big for them to adjust to and it’s a big 4 tile window that can receive indirect sunlight from the adjacent window next door at times causing the current tv to get super washed out , I’m leaning towards the OLED but since I can grab the qn900d for a very comparable price (not retail) its become a tougher decision overall especially since we’re all big sports lovers
@TechWithKG3 ай бұрын
Do you see any direct light reflection on your current TV at all? You said it’s mostly indirect so that’s a good situation for the S95D. The S95D is really bright enough for most rooms and that coating can do wonders. The 900D is nice but you will definitely see yourself in the TV if the indirect light coming in is really bright say a sunny day. So if the content is not bright to fight this say your watching a darker show or movie in the daytime you could run into problems with it (admittedly that’s not ideal on any TV)

How much do you care for pc gaming? If you have a 4090 or even a 4080 PC, the 900D is worth it over the Bravia 9. Not only because it has 8k resolution, but it has a better game mode overall. The Bravia 9 is overall better for watching video content, and the major downside to the 900D over the Bravia 9 is that it has more noticeable blooming
@mabombo82215 ай бұрын
@julianchillby1024 I will be getting a 5090 once it is released, and as for my usage, it is 70% gaming and 30% watching. I know that Samsung does gimp the local dimming in game mode (performing worse in game mode vs. movie mode), while Sony performs the same in both modes. (Except local dimming on medium, which is shown in the owner forums, but high performs the same on both movie and game modes.) I also read that the 75 and 85" QN900D are brighter than the 65" 900D because of the pixel density, and blooming should be way less on larger sizes because of the zone increase. Looking at the current prices, the QN900D became cheaper than the Bravia 9, and the G4 is slightly more expensive than the QN900D (but still cheaper than the Bravia 9). In terms of price (from cheapest to most expensive), Qn900d > G4 > Bravia 9

If money were no object I would have bought this TV the moment it came to market, problem is the price right now is more than buying a 4K240hz OLED and older/used 8K LCD separately, and the 4K image quality with a separate OLED display will be way better in many scenarios. The issue is the difference between 4K & 8K is basically splitting hairs in terms of quality and noticeability.......no one would notice the difference unless you put two TVs side by side = 4k/8k. The other issue, is the IMMENSE amount of bandwith/data needed to push an 8K video......our current infrastructure worldwide simply cannot support it, so it would make sense why TV manufacturers aren't fully onboard the "8K train".......

The difference between native 4k and 8k gaming is noticeable on a 85 inch tv sitting about 6 feet away. I did the testing myself next to a 85 inch Sony and felt the difference in sharpness was worth keeping the tv. Although one is an 8K tv and the other one 4K, Sony stole Samsungs spark this year with the Bravia 9 and its new backlight system. Samsung went all in with the AI picture processing, Sony waited, did not appear at CES, and it seems it paid off for them. People are just not interested in a 8K tv, but rather have 4K with better blacks and minimal blooming. Especially looking at how much the QN900D costs, compared to the Bravia 9.
