Samsung's S90D Series very nice promotional reduced prices for that ends the end of August. The 77" now just $2,599, 65" is $1,699, 55" $1,399, 48" $1,199 and the 42" is $1,149. So it's very excellent timing for Brian's new Video Presentation of Samsung's S90D QD OLED TV. (Except for only the 83" S90D, which uses the latest 2024 WRGB OLED panel)

Can confirm how amazing it looks! I've had mine since they dropped in March, and love everything about it. Gaming is an unreal experience. Picture depth, clarity, detail, colour, all of it is fantastic. Takes a bit of calibrating to really get it singing, but once you do you'll never want to go back to gaming on anything other than QD OLED. I'm currently playing through Horizon Forbidden West for a second time, and find myself stopping frequently just to take in how glorious everything looks. Of course it has it's little 'oh, that's kind of annoying' moments, but every tv does. Bang for your buck-wise, though, it's the best deal on the market for a high end tv

Also, it's really nice to hear your take on the differences between the S90D and 95D, and that they are marginal at best (minus the anti glare) given how far apart they are in price. Makes me feel even more content with my choice to go for the S90D!

If the size your looking for is the 42, 48 or 83 inch versions of this set you should know those sizes use a WOLED screen, the same OLED screen as the C4. So I would suggest you get whichever one is cheaper if it's one of those sizes.

QD/W-Oleds look amazing, I just wish they were brighter.I switched from C3 to TCL QM8 and I am enjoying it alot more with all the brightness I have available in SDR and HDR. I unfortunately cannot stand dim/dimming pictures over anything else. The G4 is by far the best TV i've ever seen and gets very bright (in spectral/white highlights), LG just needs to increase the full field brightness and I will switch over.

If you go to the hdr 10 plus section which is in the hdr gaming section. Reset that and you'll have the genres back. When in hdr 10 plus you are locked out of the presets

Hi Brian, great content. I have the G4 (best motion, depth, brightness and glossy) but thinking of exchanging it for a s90D due to g4 not colourful enough (mainly reds). Think it’s worth doing? Will get a decent partial refund and can be a stop gap tv till 2025/2026 flagships. Theres the A95L but higher input lag and not as bright (esp in game mode) s90d is the only alternative (hate the matt screen on s95d)

Great overall review was looking forward to someone reviewing this with the primary aspect being gaming/pc gaming. The only point that was not covered (unless I missed it was VRR). According to Rtings they say the following: "Unfortunately, there is an issue when using NVIDIA graphics cards that effects frame rates above 120 fps. The TV essentially duplicates parts at the bottom of the screen." Are you able to confirm this? Honestly thought by now Samsung would get the Nvidia certification.

The differences are in picture quality. The S90D is a QD-OLED with a higher contrast ratio , more vibrant, and more color. The pixel response is instantaneous in oled, leading to less motion blur.

So, what HDMI cables are you recommending for PC use to make sure we have full bandwidth since the certification fir them are cluster f*ck now lol? Wat's aggravating fur me is, the Dolby Atmos in Windows 10 stopped working with this TV using eARC. None of my other TV's had this issue that were Samsung. Also, got some of the Windows background flashing the image a few times across the desktop.

I got S95D really good tv in the right environment...very important. In pc world store still the only purchaser. Makes me sad. People are missing out when it comes to games. Brightness, color, especially HDR. I hope next time they bring gloss back for the flagship, it's still better just don't right off this years tv.

I’m sorry for the stupid question but Matt finish (grey color instead of pitch black) on 95d noticeable when screen is off or it’s also noticeable noticeable when screen is active and something playing on it.Today I was at Best Buy trying compare s90d with s95d but I couldn’t tell. I could see the grey finish on s95d when content had black bars on top and bottom but when full screen is on I couldn’t see any problems with blacks

@@vparziale I just sold my 65” S95B and grabbed a 77” S90D, if your upgrading size it’s totally worth it, but not if your going same size since there is very little difference with some exceptions especially with the buggy Tizen OS on the S95B but the picture difference isn’t big enough difference to upgrade in imo. Tbh I have a 65” S95C in bedroom and it goes just as hard as the S90D in most cases, I would tell ppl consider a 77” S95C and save a couple hundred dollars and get 1 connect box

Hi Brian if G3 and S90C cost the same which would you get? Im pc gamer and love watching football (soccer), and netflix. Both are in 65inch. The S90D still 25% more expensive than the above. Would really appreciate your reply and insight. I cannot get this wrong, just can afford 1 TV. Much appreciated Brian.

For PC gaming I'd go S90C. 144HZ more color and brighter. Hope this helps

Hey buddy... so the tv i own now is the vizio p55-f1 and this is the only decent quality tv I've own. I've had it now for 5 yrs and looking to buy something better. Would I notice a better picture quality with the Samsung s90d? I watch KZbin Netflix and prime video. THANKS FOR ANY HELP

Do you miss out on alot not having Dolby Vision? I keep hearing both sides saying it’s useless and then a game changer. I’ve never really sat down and compared HDR to Dolby Vision. Me and my wife finally got to see the G4, C4, and S90D side by side in person. We liked the G4 the best, then the S90D and C4 were tied. The S90D seemed like it got brighter than the C4 though. Not sure if was just the different content playing on both displays. But they seemed to trade blows in that area. It would probably come down to choosing between the 77” C4 or 77” S90D.

It largely depends on the mastering of the content you're watching. In the average scenario I'd say it's better In peak scenarios, it's much better. But when you have an S90D regardless it'll look magnificent no matter what HDR you're on

I keep going back and forth on the S90/S95D or the LG G4. Still not sure. The G4 looked the best at Best Buy, but I like the idea of a QDOLED.

@DylanX13 the G4 is better, in my opinion. Its Alpha 11 processor is excellent. It's also amazing for both pc and console gaming. However, it's double the cost. If you have the budget I'd grab the G4. Thank you for watching

The Samsung UI would be a nightmare to use for the next 7 years. It is intriguing though. At our local Costco they have both C4 and S90D on display, they are both spectacular for my untrained eye. The colours on the S90D are feeling liquid but I tend to prefer the LG as it feels real. One of my friends has the S90C and his observation was that the downside besides the UI is that he always looking for more black and he is struggling to find it.

I have a 77inch s90d. It looks terrible on my pc, I have been trying to make this tv look good for days. It doesn't even compare to my c2, I'm not sure what is going on. The coating on the screen is not glossy at all. I thought only S95d had a matte coating but coating on this screen also seems mate to me. Any advice on of how to make this tv look any good? So far i hate absolutely everything about it.

Since this is focused on gaming and PC use, definitely should have covered how to enable VRR (variable refresh rate) by going into the Nvidia control panel and specify G-sync compatible. Probably some similar setting for AMD Freesync. Also on this TV need to turn down the motion smoothing to disable the soap opera effect when watching movie content.
