I want to be able to use multiple smartphones, one at a time but have them synced with each other so that the pictures, calls and texts are all kept organized as one. I can't find a video of anyone doing this. I can't be the only person who wants to be able to do this. Why? If it's a Samsung phone all you have to do is use smart switch. It will transfer all the settings. But you'll have to re log into all the apps. Unless you use smart passwords by Samsung which will store them all.

I'd rate this video a 10 out of 10 except for one teeny tiny thing. When you are going through the selections to see what you want to transfer (images, videos) you don't look at the details of the apps selection which has a red exclamation point! :) so I now give this video 9.9999 out of 10. :)

@@jbox8450 took out my SD card and put it afterward in the other phone. As for the chrome it has to be synced in their cloud before. If it is, yeah it transfers when loading back your Google Account.

Having just done this with my new S20+ and the phone having used the sim card from the shop whilst the PAC was transferring my old number, the settings, 'about phone' is showing 'Unknown' as the phone number. It previously had a number attributed to the initial sim card from the shop. What do I need to do to show my previous number? Anything t do with switching sim cards??

There was no mention of any prep work needed for both phones prior to starting the smart switch copy (other than connecting the new phone to a power source and network connecting or pairing). Otherwise, run smart switch pretty much with the new phone right out of the box?

I am going to transfer everything from an old S20+ to a new S21+ with a capacity of 128GB, however, the SD card on my S20+ is 256GB. if this helps i found this statement, "To use a smart switch you need connectivity between the 2 phones. If the connectivity is through bluetooth then no sim card is required. If the connectivity is through wifi from one of the phones you just one with a sim card."

Thanks for a good video, which provides more info than most such videos. More things that would be nice to know: 1) What is "WiFi direct"? Do you mean NFC? Or is there actually some WiFi mode where phones can connect to each other without going through a router? 2) Given that most people would not want to use a cable, what are the other connectivity options? E.g. can I enable WiFi on both and do this transfer via a router? 3) If I have my photo Gallery organized extensively into folders (besides just the default ones), does Smart Switch preserve my folder structure? What if my old phone is an LG and my new one is a Samsung - does Smart Switch know enough about (the old) LG's Gallery app to preserve the folder structure? 4) I notice that both your phones seem to be connected to a mobile network, which means that you have SIM cards in both. Most people wouldn't have active SIM cards in both - it would be either one or the other. If only one phone has a SIM card, then does it matter which one? Another way to ask this: If I can have only one SIM active at a time, should I do the Smart Switch before or after I have my carrier enable the SIM card in the new phone? THANKS!

I only have Sim in one phone. That's why one doesn't show or say 5G or 4G LTE. Once I move everything over, then i move my sim over and do a test call and text. NFC is Near Field Communication. It is used mostly for sending small packets of data. Transferring data via WiFi direct is where a phone creates essentially its on wifi network to the other phone to transfer large amounts of data way faster than Bluetooth.

The first time I used Smart Switch I used the cable. Then decided to transfer a couple of games, but forgot to hook up the cable. And it did it wirelessly. Talk about your happy accidents. They named it right.

I'm trying to back up and transfer from my old note to my new z fold and they sent me a new SIM with the Fold due to it being 5G, and I heard him say to place the SIM in your new device at 0:54 however when was not discussed at that time.
