I got it with my s21 ultra and I can say it's better than tile. Because if we loose it, we can find it if any samsung smartphone goes near by it. They don't need to use it or install any additional app to get notify us.

The only advantage is if you have a Note 20 or a S21 with UWB. Yes that's the main feature Ultra Wide Band... But here the KZbinr didn't even mention it. Apple Tags will also support it as backend making them also inter compatible and functional.

You should also talk about battery life. 1yr vs 3 yr is a huge deal. A year goes by very fast when your active.

Thanks for the tips Liron. I went out and bought a tile mate but was a bit disappointed with it to say the least. Granted it was the previous model of the one you are using. I have a huawei y9 2019 so fairly budget but works great with most Bluetooth devices. However the tile app did not pickup the signal from the tile when I was only a few metres away while testing it. It also wants location and Bluetooth turned on the whole time which obviously drains the battery a lot quicker. Thanks again for your interesting channel. Gus

I've just cheched how many downloads which one has in the play store. Smartthings has between 500 millions and 1 billion downloads and Tile, 1 million and 5 millions. I'm not sure how many iPhone users Tile has, but it's safe to say that the Samsung's network is way bigger than Tile's, making easier to find the Smart tag out of the bluetooth range

Samsung network is huge worldwide especially in poor asian countries where cheap samsung galaxy rules. Like in philippines more people use samsung phones because it is way cheaper than iphone

It literally doesn't matter since samsung users will get the smart tag and apple users will get the air tag. It would be a different story if these companies made their products work with different brands other then their own. I got samsung and i would prefer the airtag over the smart tag, but i prefer samsung's phones over apple's phones any day.

I am yet to drain any battery...it obviously does depend on how often you make it play a sound, but the Bluetooth Low Power is amazing

Samsung only works with Samsung devices (at least that was the case when I tested it) Tile works on Android devices so check their website to confirm.

yip - I left it in my car while parked outside of a Target and set it to LOST. About 15 min later, I got a ping about its position. Pretty impressive!

Yeah they advertise those to track anybody anywhere and a picture of a map. So I bought one and realized it was Bluetooth. So if I lost something that was in Bluetooth range, it's my responsibility to find the damn thing.

eh...not sure I follow you. You can't track anyone only your own tags. If you lose your item, you can flag it and then if anyone happens to wonder by your lost tag, you get the tag's location. The person who "sent you the location" doesn't even it was done nor can they see your info.

Smart tag sucks. I got one Oct 2021 and today is June 1 2022. I lost my keys, and smart things couldn't find my key. I finally found them and I hit the button and the battery is already dead. I hasn't even been a year, and this is the first time I've ever needed it and it failed me.

Reconnect it to your app. I did that and it's been fine for years
