I have a UA55C7000 led tv, turned it on the other day and there is permanent evenly spaced black horizontal lines, makes the tv look sort of pixelated. Any ideas? I've had this tv almost 10 years so wondering if its a mainboard or something, no defects noticed when pulling it apart and inspecting

Have model LN46C610 and when there is white writing (usually at the bottom), white lines shadow the full height of the screen from where the writing was. And slowly fades away 30 seconds later. Disassembled and found no short circuits. Removed and cleaned all connectors on cable connections. Reassembled and didn't solve anything. Could it be t-con board or main board.

I have a un40h5203 with a faint shaded line about 4 inches in the middle of the screen and on the right side there is a line about 4 inches wide that’s complete static any thoughts ?

It sounds like you have a panel fault. There isin't anything that can be done typically when that happens other than replacing the TV.

Nick’s, I have this model and the screen will go black after playing for a few minutes. I have determined that the backlights are going out. I replaced the power board BN44-00340B and after startup it played fine for more than 30 minutes and again went black. Is there another board I need to replace?

Hello Jim, I don't believe your backlight is going out as this is an LCD model. When CCFL backlights go out, they typically will do so within the first couple seconds of the set turning on. Does your picture still appear on the screen when the picture goes black? Meaning if you took a flashlight to the screen can you still see the picture? If that is the case, there is a small chance your CCFL's are indeed going out, but that would be a strange symptom for CCFL failure. If this is the case, I don't believe it would be worth it to fix the set. If you are unable to see a picture with a flashlight after the set goes dark, then there is a good chance the issue is with your mainboard which would be a failure we could service for you.

I have this exact model Samsung tv. If a source HDMI is playing onscreen, the screen goes dark within about 30 seconds and sound continues. (If nothing is playing from an HDMI source, the screen may stay lit indefinitely with the “Check signal cable” message moving about the screen.) If I shine a flashlight at the dark screen, I can just make out the action being displayed without backlighting. Do I need to replace a circuit board? Thanks. JC

Jim, This is a very strange situation. You are stating that if no device is plugged in via HDMI then you have a proper picture on the screen, but if you plug something in your backlight shuts off? Generally, backlight related issues are due to the inverter circuit on the power supply, but if plugging in an HDMI causes the backlight to turn off, then there must be a strange failure with your mainboard. @@NicksTVRepair After I made this comment, the screen went black. It just took longer to happen. The time varied, but it eventually went black. The board which has the backlight inverter is apparently the problem, but how do I identify the correct board to send for repairs?

I have one horizontal thin redline on Samsung ln32d450g1dxza about an inch from bottom of screen fades more on left than right. Thanks

A singular line generally indicated a screen failure. When the mainboard fails you will see many lines and they will be evenly distributed across the screen. I don't know if your issue will be fixable. You will most likely need to talk to a local tech on that one. I suggest looking for a place that offers free estimates. I have qn82q8fnbfxza Samsung and there's a black line runs across the screen. The Tv was $5,000 when I purchased 2018. I've contacted Samsung technician and they plan to charge me about $200 plus parts. What is your suggestion/advice. Appreciate it.

I would get a second opinion. Lines in my experience are always a screen fault which is not worth fixing.

I have a Samsung LN40C630 that sometimes displays a poor picture, that is fuzzy with multiple vertical lines, this usually goes away when i reseat or press on Roku stick and hdmi port

As I am describing in the video, I am simply applying pressure on the component inputs and HDMI inputs (pressing on them). So I am just putting pressure on the main board essentially creating movements and causing the distortion to appear, disappear or change. Let me know if I am not explaining myself properly and I can try to rephrase it.

I believe your model uses a very similar type of mainboard which I strongly believe is at fault based on your symptoms. I recommend your first step be for you to reseat the ribbon.
