Agree with you mostly and not a Samsung fanboy, but some hardware changes not mentioned: - Better cooling (vapour chamber) - 12 Gb's of RAM on all S25 models - Slightly larger display for the Ultra and thinner besels - Snapdragon chips on all the devices every where (no more Exynos) I do agree they could've done more though

Not really. LG was taking risks and they were innovating. The problem is they were not consistent. One great feature introduced in a generation was disappearing in the next generation, and so on. It was very disorienting.

Hi, I’ve been browsing your website and considering getting one of these phones: Honor Magic 7 Pro, Oppo Find X8 Pro, or Vivo X200 Pro. I’d really appreciate your recommendation on which one to choose. Also, just curious-what phone are you currently using yourself? Your input would be a great help as I’m planning to shop from your site. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

Totally agree with you. I have been an iPhone user since model 5. Then recently switched to S24 Ultra, but poor faceID and fingerprint sensor with tempered glass on made be go back to iPhone 16 pro. A few days later Honor Magic 7 pro arrived in EU and now I am sorry that I haven’t been more patient because it seems like a better phone. Sadly there’s no Vivo in Europe…I have just subscribed to your channel.

I bought the Mate XT from your store (and had a great buying experience at the AverageDadTech store), and will re-buy it from your store when Huawei comes out with a Global version of the Mate XT. I still think the s25 standard is one of the best and only options for a compact flagship. If they would just stick a min 5500mah silicon carbide battery in it then the s25 would be close to perfect for anyone wanting a smaller phone.

I so agree with you! Maybe not on the ""egregious and malicious" terminology however. I am not angry against Samsung. I am sad. I would replace "egregious and malicious" by "terrified" Samsung has become risk-averse and I think it's driven by fear. Fear of the executives to somehow damage the brand if some innovation backfires. Fear of employees and executives to be fired on the spot if anything goes wrong. If you are a little familiar with work culture in Korea and in Samsung in particular, you know that the work culture is savage there. I really believe fear plays a big role in their lack of innovation. Innovation is risk.

5 years ago I had come up to this realisation when I observed the joke that Note 20 Ultra was (looking at what the Note 10+ had been), and mind you, the increment was substantially bigger than S22 to S24! It was then that I ditched Samsung and never went back again. Samsung is converging with Apple in dominating the minds of the simpletons with mere scrubs.

I wish there was a mandate forcing manufacturers to only release new phones every 2-3 years. No way in hell Samsung could get away with releasing the same phone each time if they were spaced 3 years apart - and it would force manufacturers to actually make bigger upgrades through software

As much as I agree but they did add features I as a creator actually want and use. Aka LOG at 8k on all three sensors. Dual back camera recording. And and as much as I hate they lost the Bluetooth on the Spen the button still works as a camera clicker so it's not all bad. Personally I will be upgrading to the S25ultra from a S23ultra because of those camera features. I would love to get a xiamai but I need the Spen. 😊

S Pen + the Anti-reflective display on the Ultra is super nice BUT the battery, ram and most importantly the cameras are just mediocre for an "ultra" device. I cant justify an average camera for the $ they ask. Got myself a x200 pro and now I feel even better about that decision
@yediydeyah7812 минут бұрын
That was SUCH A HORRIBLE EVENT FROM SAMSUNG!! I was heavily disspointed in what I tortured myself into watching (especially the 45+ minutes prelude loop 🙄) Samsung taking away the BT functionality in the S-Pen has taken away the key reason why I invested into the Samsung ecosytem... Now that it's gone, I'll either find an S24 Ultra OR just say skip it and say all bets are off (meaning ANY PHONE can be my daily driver now (including a foldable)). Samsung talked NOTHING about speaker volume improvements, display brightness improvements, nor did they upgrade the RAM to 16GB (as other OEMs are doing for all of this "AI" nonsense). Samsung needs a complete redo of their mobile division as it's clear that they lost their way and are just phoning it in now

It's looking an odd year --- I got the Xiaomi 14 ultra last year --- amazing camera yes... software is nice but needs much more work on battery optimisation but looking at the anticipated specs this year it's very marginal. The cameras looks mostly the same other than the rumoured periscope So i'm really undecided about any upgrade this year. Only thing that's making me consider it is the fact my son (who gets the hand-me-downs after at least 2 years of use from me or wifey) is kinda needing a new phone ... so i might get the 15 but interested to see what Oppo do in "ultra" but guessing they might not release globally --- will look at the oppo though anyway i just have a few very specific items i won't compromise on

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you. I'm disgusted with not 16 gigs of RAM. In fact, I'm switched my tablet out to a Lenovo's now. I think that there are better company to deal with. They don't keep slowing your equipment down every time a new piece of equipment comes out. They have been doing that with my phone and I believe tablets too. The only thing I've seen knew that they came up with is a customized chip. And I believe the reason why that is is it's no different than having like A say a snapdragon one plus, which is what's inside my one tablet from Lenovo that's customized for Lenovo. And they did the same thing with the Samsung Snapdragon 3. They just customized it a little bit for them. God only knows what kind of customization. Probably not much at all but done any innovation, nothing. In fact, I'm even starting to consider whether or not I want to buy the the fold 7. I have bought in every fold but the first one And so so far, I'm tired of these. If they give you bread crumbs and they charge you a fortune, and they get people in with this, you know, keep getting you to trade your phone. And it's, it's actually a vicious cycle, and it really needs to stop. And I think that companies like Samsung, Apple are in more trouble than people realize, because they need to sell people a new phone every year to keep their market up. But I think they're going to find in the next five years, people are going to be holding on their stuff for 2 3 maybe even five years I know people who always had to have stay-theart phones. They're still on the Samsung 8 and some of them are on the 9 but nobody's buying a new phone every year. Number one, they're not in high school anymore. Number two, the prices are ridiculous, and there's nothing exciting. I bought the Lenovo think book, hybrid 52 computers in one Android and Windows. And it was expensive. They said it was gonna be 3500. I got it for 2000 forty-four through Lenovo. I'm gonna tell you what this was the funnest computer I've bought in years. Something new. All the rest of the computers out there are the exact same. I mean, yeah, a little here, a little there, but they're all the same. There's nothing different. It's just, I'm waiting for some more exciting things to come out. You know, these the most exciting thing I've seen in phones in the last 5 years was done by Huawei, the triple fold. Now they did a horrible job, and the phone, I think, is something I would never buy, because it's garbage. I wish Samsung would have came out that. And the funny thing is, it was Samsung's design, and then Huawei stole it. But Samsung never bothered to build anything. Nothing new. I'm kind of sick of them

I think the trouble is, smartphones have reached the pinnacle of where they can go now. We have all what we need. Speed, memory, resolution, cameras, folding screens etc. There is a limit to size, thinness and weight. What should get improved over time is battery tech. So, all they can give us now is software and AI. When I see a smartphone with a 50x optical zoom, l'll be impressed. Until then, we'll be fed nothing but AI bullshit.

The hardware is a disappointment for sure. Has been for years. This is where Samsung are really not pushing the envelope. However, I don't really care, for me the software is the thing I interact with and this is where Samsung shines. I don't care about the AI guff too much but the main One UI is still imo one of, if not the best interface out there. I tried a Pixel phone this year and was so disappointed with naked Android, where as back in the day I used to strip vendor OS's back to basics with Cynagenmod or a pure Android as it was the better interface. I can see no reason for anyone to upgrade from the S24 and potentially not the S23 either. I also feel like Samsung have copied Google and tried to 'iPhone' the S series.

In Nov 2024 my Samsung S22 Ultra vomitted 2 ugly green lines across the screen the day after I bought my Huawei Matepad 12X (got a complimentary FreeBuds 5i). Coincidence? More like frustrated, miffed, angry ... all the emotions poured in. Took it to the nearest Samsung service centre, and they wanted to charge to replace the screen at almost 20% of the original S22 price. The nerve! Since I've broken the ecosystem (Harmony OS vs Android), I ordered the Huawei (foldable) Mate X6 at launch; got a free Ultimate watch. Go ahead I said, take a risk ... get it all on Harmony. 5 weeks in now, and it was the best decision ever. All devices on the same Huawei OS! Buttery smooth performance. Google apps work fine.

unfortunately i'm going to buy it because I've got a recent refund on my s23 ultra and I'm using it to buy the s25 ultra, but man I can't believe how messed up this phone release was ! I mean : - Still 5000 mah battery unchanged while other flagship started already using new technologies with 6000mah. - still no 16Gb RAM even for the 1To version here in EU - S pen got downgraded (no bluetooth, no air actions) + unmatching colors with the phones - no M14 displays and no improvement on PWM frequencies for less eye fatigue - still a crappy 10Mp 3x f2.4 camera on samsung's 2025 flagship - no camera design changes for the last 4 years (still a wobbly phone) - still no charger in the box for "ecological" reasons but I have to say tho, the rest is PERFECT. 😅
