Samsung WA45H7000AW Washing Machine has draining issues. This can either be caused by a bad water pump or a clogged water pump. This video will demonstrate how to diagnose the problem and fix it if it is only a clog.
If you need to purchase a new pump it can be found at this link amzn.to/3zHgdER
And during the 16-17 July Prime Days, it's on sale!!

100% DIY solution! I got lucky and didn't even have to remove the pump, just the top hose and there was the "clog" sticking out. Pulled on it and kept on pulling until a mauled sock about 8 inches long came out. Less than an hour, and we are back in business. Thank you so much for posting something so easy to find and follow. (soap box comment: What kind of engineer builds a washer where something the size of a sock can reach a pump impeller?)

Thanks for the great video. My Samsung 7050AW washer started to have the water draining issue about a week ago. The instructions were clear. Was hoping my issue was the same with just the lint. Found the inside motor have a small plastic piece that was broken off. Was able to order a replacement motor piece for about $20 from Amazon. What is harder is that rubber valve cap, DC62-00328A, was broken off and the exact piece for the OEM is about $60+. There is another valve cap for about $10 with a different model number but don't think it would fit. In the end I just went to the Sears Direct to buy the motor set assembly for about $100. At least I know that the part would work. Still have me some money from needing to buy another Washer for a while.

Thanks for the video bud. We have a similar Samsung washer using the same pump and I expected to find the pump header full of fluff like you, but instead discovered a loose impeller and broken impeller shaft. LOTS of other washers use this same pump, as do other companies as well. You can get a replacement pump (just the motor--it snaps onto the plastic header from your machine) for about $25 at multiple websites. Just finished the job and am running our machine for the first time in a week (No LEAKS !!!). Could not have done this without your very helpful video.

Great video!!! Heres another tip for people having trouble out there… after unclamping the first black hose on the right hand side, i used a wet/dry vacuum and was able to get a huge amount of cotton which was clogging the pump. Clamped it back up and was good to go. This will save you some time from having to take out the whole pump and taking it apart. Plus keep things a little dryer because you can use the vacuum to dry as you go!

I want to thank you for this video. My girlfriend told me she was stressed and I asked her why she said that her wash did not complete it cycle by spinning and letting the water out and that the washing machine tub have water in it. I put the model number in and your video came up and I was relieved. Although your pump slightly varies it's the same. I should have listened to the beginning of your video because you do say to put it on the spin cycle which I had to learn later on. I wasn't sure if it was the computer or the motor. Allowing gravity draining and putting on spin the motor wasn't a problem because it was spinning. However if the machine doesn't release water the spin cycle will stop. I figured out the computer was telling the motor what to do but the pump wasn't doing its job and so it would stop the cycle. You made it look easy and your video photography was well done. You were straight into the point and I could understand. I'm going to subscribe to you I think you ought to make other videos as you do a good job. We are ordering the pump and I'll be replacing it pretty soon. Thanks again to you.

You are the man! All of the sudden my washer stopped working in the middle of a cycle with about a 1/5 of a drum full of water. I restarted it and all I heard was a hump (power was going somewhere). I emptied the water by myself and restarted a cycle emptied. It all worked until the drain/spin process. I watched some other videos and stumbled with yours after figuring out the problem must be in the drain pump. I already had the pump out and thought about replacing it since electricity was good (voltage check and humming). I disassembled the pump per your instruction and found a small piece of Jean's metal branding in it stopping the pump from turning. I put everything back together and walla...it works again. Thanks for this awesome video.

Thank You! FIXED! Great to know what is inside the machine. Just a couple of modifications to your method. 1. I used a shop vac wet vac to suck the water out of the hoses both the drain hose, and when I disconnected the hose from the bottom of the drum. * Note I did scoop out as much water as possible, and sucked out what I could from the top of the washing machine. There is quite a bit of water left in the drum. A quick finger check into the intake side of the pump confirmed there was a clog similar to yours. I tried to suck it out with the vacuum, but ended up removing the pump and realized there is a check valve in the exhaust side of the hose, so no to vacuum. I then just stuck a screwdriver into the pump inlet and was able to pull out the clog similar to what you had. Once it looked visually OK, I used the blower side of the vacuum to blow in the input side, and I had a good flow on the output side. So I reinstalled it without completely disassembling the pump. Much thanks to you, I would have taken it all apart if I had not watched your video!

thank you. I am having the same issue. As soon as I have my new wetvac out of the box I will be ready to tackle the issue. : follow up; I SPENT some time trying to resolve the issue simply by applying a wetvac hose to the drain hose. It was my hope that doing so would dislodge the obstruction. While I was able to fully drain the washer with the use of the wetvac I was unable to clear the obstruction. Following you excellent instructions, I was able to do exactly what you did and I fixed the problem. In my case, it was a 1" x 3" piece of strapping which had torn loose from a backpack. I would advise all to consider taking picture of your pump as you disassemble it as it can be somewhat puzzling putting it back together.

I found some headphone wire, a single headphone earpiece, and a decorative polished rock 😳 now I wonder how long it will take to get the rest of the missing headphone pieces stuck in there again 😣 Can't thank you enough for the video.

O.M.G. this totally worked for me! Thanks to your video I was able to open up the drain/water pump and found a piece of wood splinter from one of my husky's chew sticks that must have been in one of the carpets I had just washed. THANK YOU this saved me a call to a repair person which would have been about $300!!! I also found my protective housing was not on and secured, plus one of my rubber grommets is missing and will replace, plus the hose on the inside of the back of the washer was not connected to this little rubber stabilizer and rehooked that and it's even now quieter!!! Thank you! this only cost me my time :)

You saved this mama a headache!!! I was so stressed. It was taking forever, over a week for a technician to come out. I was just fed up today. It was my daughter’s sock that was stuck in the drain. Keep doing great videos!!! God bless you !!❤

I found this video at 1 o clock in the morning after my washer stopped draining this evening. It took me about 15 min to get pump out, and to pull out the stuff that was jamming up the pump! Cu=entry running a wash cycle and it set to be working fine. Thanks a bunch sir, you may have saved me a nice bit of money!

Thank you so much for the video. This is exactly what my machine needed. No one in my area would even take a look at a samsung. Showed your video to son in law. He ordered the pump and replaced it. It now works good as new.

Thank you so much for making this video. I bought a washer off of someone and after 2 weeks it stop working. I was so stressed out. And a little angry. But bc of your video I was able to fix it. The pump was stuff with cotton from a blanket or pillow that the other person must of wash. Which Explains the motor smell I was smelling but others didn’t smell it. Thank you again. You saved me.

This saved me some money, you're the best! I have a different model but it's 99% identical down there (minus the wire retaining clips, those I couldn't get to release btw) Had to tear it completely apart from behind the washer on the floor but found a key, that I mistakenly left in my pocket, hanging out in the pump.

Thank you so much. I had the same problem and got it fixed in less than an hour. However, I got water spilled all over the floor and had to use a shop vac to dry. Now that I am thinking about that, I should have used the shop vac to get the water out from the drum first. Anyway, the mess is not too bad and you saved my day. Really appreciated.

I found this video, but only after watching a bunch of videos that said "you might have a little bit of water come out of the pump, so have a little hand towel ready just in case". I'm glad my husband was home, because he ran down as soon as I yelled out because I basically flooded the whole laundry area, ruining the adjacent floor boards and crumbling the painted cement. I didn't expect the whole tub to empty through there. I definitely didn't expect that it'd all come flowing out at that step. The thing that worries me is that the water came down everywhere, so I'm afraid that the electrical wires have been damaged, not just at the pump, but anywhere under the washer. I definitely will go the shop vac way to empty the rest of it before trying to disconnect the pump again... It's in times like this I wish I had a drain hole in the floor.

Well, add me to the list of successfully clearing out the drain pump and saving lots of money. The instructions provided were clear, I was somewhat doubtful of the initial video finding dry lint in the drain pump, but I moved ahead anyways based on other comments. Wouldn’t you know - I found a finishing nail in mine, removed it, reconnected everything, and back to functioning! Many thanks

Another happy customer! I was able to do this while my husband was away on business and I didn't want anyone in my house with the virus spreading. I am not a mechanically inclined person but was able to follow your video and directions and clean out the drain. Within an hour my washer was ready to use again! Thank you so much!!!!!

Thank you! Our 2015 Samsung washer hit me with the 5E won't drain error code. Had an appliance tech come out and say we need a new drain pump. Part was back ordered and I didn't want to spend $438! This video saved me $300 after I fixed it myself with a new pump from Amazon and this video that was super helpful! My set up was secured a little different than yours but after a three hours I figured it out! Thanks! We had a kid sock stuck in the white PVC pipe that connects to the black hose. Still needed to replace the motor since we burned it out trying to get it to drain before we took the back apart.

Thank you so much for making this video. I had the same thing happen this weekend (padding/stuffing getting stuck in the drain pump) and couldn't find much info on dealing with this on top loading washers. This saved me from calling a repairman or ordering a new pump.

Thank you again for your step by step video. Ive seen other videos but they didn’t help me like yours did. In fact some of the stuff they said to do didn’t help at all. But I love how detail you were about everything. Especially the part of the wire where black is flat. Bc I did forget where they went. I hope you continue to do more videos about other things that broke down in the house and fixing car problems too. As a single mom of 4. These videos help me a lot.
