Another great video! Thanks for the upload. I rarely comment on anything on the internet but wanted you to know that you were the inspiration behind my new family car. 2011 L322 with 141,000 on the clock. One loving owner from new. It might be the perfect car. Does everything I need it to do in luxury and almost make me happy and chill me out on a long drive. I think I’ve watched all you L322 videos a minimum of 2 times as I tried to make my choice. I have also used multiple videos to upgrade my new car (LED lights, new armrest knob etc) still a few on my list to do but great fun so far. Thank you for starting your channel, thanks for the great uploads, no bullshit, no fluff just simple clean engineer videos. If you and the Mrs are ever in Scotland feel free to drop me a message. I can offer Tea and a fair decent knowledge of Scottish islands and cool places to adventure. All the best Calum

Another point to be aware of with your under-reading speedo: it is illegal in many jurisdictions to have a speedo that under-reads - one reason being that it affects the odometer reading, underestimating the actual mileage/kilometrage of the vehicle.

Nice update Sam, finally gave me to confidence to change some CCF files! Switched on the DRL and added the digital speedo...off to Netherlands next week so having kph on the digital speedo is cool. Will see if i can do the kph swap on main dial. Had a flat last week, not repairable so decided on full set of GG AT3 fitted next week, wonder if the 55 profile will impact speedo. If so, will do your CCF change. Will check my centre bearing at some point. Enjoy your jaunt across Europe. Always love an EU trip. Took my RR to Southern Germany for a business trip last month. Best car for long road trips. Look forward to the next video. Cheers.

Did you ever fix your ride on the l322? I recently bought one with vdc and when I bought it the battery had gone low and it was in a “towing” mode I’d say as it was riding the same as when I’ve had a trailer on my old l322 with vdc. This made me think whirl watching your videos on it, have you ever checked the towbar electrics or considered removing them temporarily to see it it helps? When I towed the rear went hard and the truck bounced even when the trailer had no weight on it so I shouldn’t have felt it. Anyway just thought I’d mention it in case it helps.

What make is the 270 awning as this looks decent addition to your RR😊
@startono7 ай бұрын
please we need to know: how much weight can the roof truly hold? I reckon with the weight of your robust roof rack, and the RTT, and the awning, you're already at the max capacity? how then can it hold the weight of 2 grown adults on top to boot? thanks in advance for your experienced answer.
@SamsMotors7 ай бұрын
So there’s a difference between the roof’s static load limit and its dynamic limit. The dynamic load limit is 100kg for the L322 - we’re probably around 90-100kg with our setup. Statically (I.e. when the vehicle isn’t moving), the roof can take a great deal more - in the region of hundreds of kg, perfectly safely. Remember, the roof is designed to withstand the entire weight of the vehicle should the car roll over. The Frontrunner roof rack is rated for around 300kg itself (static of course).

Hi Paul, they are from Amazon and are a copy of the Baja ones. They seem very good quality so far. amzn.to/4bYD78Q HOWEVER you will need to use the 3D printed brackets that Jordan Bridges has designed to fit them. Where are you based?

What are the symptoms of the centre bearing being shot on the l322? Just vibration?

Great setup, but how will you open trunk with awning open? Whats the total vehicle height with tent on top? Im thinking about buying rack for my L322 and just switching tent betweend defender and rangerover, depending on trip destination. Also, L322 related question. In my 4.2sc i have broken heating/cooling in front seats. Do you think, it's possible that the same ducts are used in rear seats? I was thinking about switching them over since there is no need for luxury in second seat row in my car :)
@SamsMotors7 ай бұрын
The boot lid opens up inside the awning, with enough space to stand under it 👍 I’m not sure about the ducts, my car doesn’t have the cooled seats so I’ve never seen what they look like.

Hi Sam first time watching your channel and just subscribed! I can tell you’re a quality mechanic, great to see you using the right tools for the right job. On a side note I’m an x- military vehicle inspector, we need more conscientious vehicle inspectors, the amount of unroadworthy and unsafe vehicles I’m seeing on the road at the moment is extremely concerning, particularly on emissions. Anyway you take care. Looking forward to following your upcoming road trip, Dave 👍

What roof rack have you got Sam ?, You have probably been through this in past videos ,sorry for asking anyway if that's the case. I don't think there is a lot of choice with L322's and I think the roof loading isn't great. As a fabricator and LR fan I have toyed with designing my own.
@SamsMotors7 ай бұрын
It’s a Frontrunner Slimline 2. I like its strength and modularity but it’s annoyingly a bit short for the L322’s roof (doesn’t use the full area) and it can be a bit noisy if you don’t have it set up correctly. I’m sure there are better options but it works well for the tent.
