This is the best performance I've heard of this piece, live or studio, and I've listened to it literally a few hundred times.

wonderful that this was issued on Sam's 100th birthday.One of his last commissions which was not completed was an oboe concerto for H.Gomberg.Hearing this in 2019 and remembering the oboe in his Violin Concerto's second movement brings back much nostalgia, having played for Sam in the late 70's, spent many amusing times with him in Southampton,L.I and premiered his pIANO cONCERTO IN THE nl.....
