great bio. I love his wife too. just a side note: Laurence Fishburne has a little house in the French Quarter around the corner from me. it's across from a little grocery called Matassa's. I haven't seen him lately, and I heard he may've sold it during the pandemic. anyway, he is much beloved in the Quarter and used to have a crotch-rocket style motorcycle that he kept in his courtyard. when he would come in for a weekend or a few days, he would dress down and sit on his stoop and talk to anyone that came by; street people, tourists, locals, etc... sometimes people didn't even recognize him in his faded jeans and flannel shirt over an undershirt. once a group of teens recognized him when I was shopping in Matassa's. they were looking at him through the store window and talking excitedly. they turned to me and asked me if that was Mr. Fishburne. I said yes but he didn't like to be mobbed while he was on his private time. they didn't listen and ran across the street yelling, "Mr. Fishburne can I have a selfie with you?" as I was leaving and heading down the street to my house, I overheard him telling them no. he said if they had approached him with respect and asked politely, he would have. then he went on to give them a lesson in how to be respectful and they walked away in awe. he was firm, but not unkind. I loved it!! another time he was there, he was with a man. I didn't read too much into this, it's his business but I was impressed with how the locals just let him be whoever he wanted to be. there were many other interesting things like, once I was shopping when he came in and after exchanging pleasantries, I noticed he was rubbing his eye. what's wrong I said. he leaned over and used his fingers to spread his eye open and said can you see anything in my eye? lol, just a regular guy when he's there. but I will never forget how he talked to that group of young black people with such interest and respect. I don't really like mentioning that the kids were black, but I felt it was important to the story and mattered to him.

Congrats to Mr. Jackson... I don't think, in the history of hollywood, has an actor gotten this much juice out of playing the same character in every movie role as Mr. Jackson has... well done.
@curtisthomas26705 ай бұрын
Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washington, Nicholas Cage, Adam Sandler, Adam Sandler, John Cusack basically just play themselves in most of their roles
@thaat15 ай бұрын
@@curtisthomas2670 I agree with Morgan Freeman (The Magical Negro) and Adam Sandler (Jerry Lewis Knock off)... But Denzel? Denzel is a top ten actor of all time. Denzel has shown limitless range from "Malcom X" to "Book of Eli" to "Roman J. Israel, Esq." Nicholas Cage is one of the most eccentric actors in movie history and a way better actor than Mr. Jackson. Watch "Vampire's Kiss" "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans" and "Adaption" Not a fan of John Cusak, but he was really good in "Being John Malkovich." IMO Mr. Jackson found his niche in Pulp Fiction has never strayed far from the lazy formula of the "Angry Seething Black Man." A better list would be Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson right behind Mr. Jackson.

Fun fact: He once said in an interview if he watches the movies he played in, because most actors actually don't like to see their own playing. He said yes because all these movies he was in are great to watch. He is such a down to earth man, like us average people! Same for Ewan Mc Gregor using the force on public slide doors to entertain himself.

Let me tell ya, Samuel L.Jackson is my favorite actor! One of the coolest actor around and deserves all his props and accolades! One of my favorite movies by him was Soul Men wit' da late Bernie Mac! That man has sum great dance moves! Another great film by him was Goodfellas even though it was a brief role! One of the things I love about him is he's not afraid to do any role and has great range! He is like Fine, Wine And Cheese, Betta wit' age just like Morgan Freeman and Robert DeNiro! That bald head and cool personality of his makes him da shit! He challenged Tiger Woods in golf, man, unfuckinbelievable! Plus, he played in the movie Juice which was a small role but he got his point across! The man is a cash cow! Who wouldn't want him in a flick? Just his presence would make da flick da shit! Do he deserve all his praise, hell fuckin' yes! Much luv and continued success! Go on, bad azz! Nuff Said!
