My father lived in Mar Del Plata when he was a kid, said he hated the weather, always gave him colds. I was born in Buenos Aires, and lived there until age 8, but haven't been there since 1961. Now I'm in Lodi, California and I highly recommend Stouffers TV Dinners for all you connoisseurs. Anchovie fillets in olive oil are $1.19 @ Food For Less.

The blue shells on your BBQ platters are mussels (not clams). When I was little we used to pick them at low tide on our somewhat rocky shoreline; steam them and dip them in melted butter before popping them in our mouths by the bowl full (per person). I've had them with a white wine tomato basil parsley broth too. The BBQ looked scrumptious though.

@jonnrock5 жыл бұрын
You would fly into Buenos Aires, then you can take a flight to the airport in Mar Del Plata.
@federicol84165 жыл бұрын
You have many flys from Buenos Aires ( Ezeiza , Aeroparque, El Palomar airport) to Mar del Plata city, its a 30 minutes fly. You can also go by train or bus, takes around 5 hours. There many 5 stars hotels in the city. I highly recommend you, The provincial, its just in front to the seafood restaurant.

it's interesting how much great seafood lives off the Argentine coastline. yet per capita, they eat so little of it. equally strange is the large Spanish - Galician & Italian immigrants who happen to have a strong seafaring - fishing tradition, who many Argentines are descended from. yet still, the low per capita seafood consumption.
