Is the dish called Mazamorra? If so, it is a common dish in the area
@samuelandaudrey3 жыл бұрын
The dish we had is called 'pastel de choclo'. Mazamorra also uses corn, but it's more of a dessert.
@pauly54183 жыл бұрын
What's the name of that corn pie in Chile? I'd like to try one out...maybe find a recipe for it. I was a little surprised to see salmon being served in South America because salmon is a fish that's naturally only in the northern hemisphere so I looked into it. I read that salmon was first introduced to Chile and South America in 1977. This may not have been such a good idea as it would have thrown the local ecosystem out of whack. By the way, 50 Canadian beavers were brought to Tierra del Fuego in Argentina in 1946 in the hope of developing a fur trade. Instead, the beavers are chewing down the trees and there's no natural predator to stop them. Argentina and Chile should get some Canadian scientists to help get rid of the thousands of beavers since I'm sure they would have a lot of knowledge of beavers. PS - I did a simple Google search and found lots of recipes for the corn pie aka pastel de choclo.

Well, I guess it’s like cebiche, to me I am Peruvian living in the USA for many years, I thought it was a dish that nobody else had it. Imagine my surprise when I learned and tried many cebiches from different American countries! They are similar but they are different! To me the Peruvian cebiches it’s the best ! I couldn’t imagine a cebiche with tomatoes or paltas ( avocados) in it, but the reality is a lot of counties have their own version of it. It is the same with the corn thing. It’s not better or worse, it’s just different and similar at the same time . After all we are very similar ( people from SOuth America/ Central America ) We have, alfajores, tamales, empanadas, etc etc and so does many other countries.
