I love your tutorials because they are one of the only ones that break down weight distribution and edges for the moves. It's surprising how a lot of skate tutorials are just basically "do this, and then do that. see? easy!". Us noobs can't tell what edge these people are on or where their weight is just by watching a move, which makes skating so deceptively complicated IMO. It's not like dancing where you just visually mimic the move, because the device on our feet is effected by physics and you need to tell people what the skates and your body needs to be doing for the move to work. Which is why I adore your tutorials, and link them often to my peers. Thank you for making such awesome content.

Thank you for this video. I've watched several other tutorials on this move that are twice as long as yours, and even though some of them have many details and breakdowns, none of them have the critical aspects that you lined out. Which leg and the inside/outside edge I should be focusing on seem to be missing from most other tutorials. It's hard learning slalom moves in a city where there are hundreds of aggressive skaters and wizard/mushroom bladers, but I can't find single slalom skater or someone interested in it. I got this one down in about 20 minutes after your video after trying for a week with some other youtube tutorials. Edit: I mean to say that I appreciate that you don't just show a video of you doing the motions and telling people to watch and repeat, which is what most inline skate tutorials present. But actually describe where your weight is and what leg you're focusing on.

Well great timing for this 1. I just got my 2nd pair of Hardcore Evo,s 43 . The 42 was killing my toes. These new skates feel so much better, night and Day difference. Anyway I've just started this week working on the basics to do the Crazy. I've been learning to skate and City type Skating for the past year. Thanks for the tutorial. Love the step by step explanations. See you next time you lace up!!!

what did you do with the 42? I think I have the same problem, my front of feet after 30minutes is missing blood D:

@@motiondude I still have them.

@@motiondude Get waxed laces and loosen your toebox, no need to make it that tight. At the ankle they need to be tight, you can do this nicely with waxed laces.

Its so hard to go from back to front, is there any thing I'm doing wrong I seem to continue going backwards rather than stop and go forwards from the "upside down V" position.

Decided to go with learning to do more slalom moves. Bought a pair of FR IGors/rockered; really sweet ride. Curious, on avearge, how much time did you spend practicing? I'm getting in about a couple of hours every other day. Getting my share of falls but hanging in there. Thanks for the videos, your instructions are explained quite well!

I'm new too. This looks like a forward then backwards criss cross (forward to backwards basket weave). It took an hour to get criss cross on cones without knockin them over constantly, and each day since I refine it. I started practicing the weak side the other day and it came faster. It probably looks as good as my strong side, but a little less consistent. Next will be backwards. I find practicing without cones, slowly, has helped the most. Cones add stress and complexity that isn't needed if you're having trouble with the movement to begin with. Slow helps you really feel and think about what each leg is doing and where you get stuck.

Bill, I’m not sure I really know how much time I spent practicing it. I learned it a couple years back and just would do it every now and then until it felt comfortable. Slalom is only somewhat interesting to me, so I don’t really focus practicing it like I do other dance styles and power skating.
@CrimsonStrider4 жыл бұрын
This is basically two criss cross or an alternating forward to backwards crisscross. Right?
@DeezSkates4 жыл бұрын
Yup. That’s exactly right. The trickiest part is just being able to alternate directions and travel to the side with it.
@CrimsonStrider4 жыл бұрын
@@DeezSkates Thanks. I'm sure this will come naturally once I start practicing backwards criss cross

Hey Bob. The grapevine is a little different from the crazy. I have an old tutorial for it buried deep in my video history. This move is not the grapevine.
