some called it shuffle and some called it rexing and this is just another variation of the original.

Nice technique. Most people don’t actually crossover, or do an underpush. In fact most KZbin crossovers are not so well done. Learners tend to lift and draw the outside foot over very quickly as they are scared of skating on an outside edge on one foot. I learnt this on ice with a coach, but your drills look good.
@DeezSkates22 күн бұрын
Thanks! I’m an ice dancer. My technique also comes from my coach. If you watch my backward crossover tutorial I show a demo of her in it. I see the same thing you describe, in a lot of inline skaters. I think a lot of skaters that have not had formal training don’t really understand how the crossover works on a technical level.

I have 4x90 and put 84 90 90 84 ... that was wild 😅 Also, my only rockered experience... It's 3mm of rockering (radius, not diameter 😅) My normal frame length is 273mm so it feels like skiing haha (Powerslide next 4x90) Rockering felt like moving from skiis to stilts 😅 I can turn on a dime, though 😅

It looks just like it did when i went as a kid, even the chrsitmas display seems the same. The cool carpet is gone though, is it bare concrete now, or is it carpet the same color as concrete?
@DeezSkatesАй бұрын
I haven’t been there but twice in the last couple of years but I believe the side where you step onto the skate floor is concrete now. In the ice storm that happened the year after the pandemic, the rink floor was destroyed by busted water pipes and roof leakage. They spent nearly a year remodeling the whole building and putting in a brand new skate floor. It’s a bit different now. The skate floor is larger.

@JackMelqartАй бұрын
for the cables, well they could do special pants, which have the cables built in and in the end there is an actual cable 5 inch long to connect to the boots. but that would be expensive to make

Will electric skates get you to do TNS in the summer? :P -henry
@DeezSkatesАй бұрын
Hahaha. Not in the summer. But it would get me to do it during the nice season. lol. In truth, I just don’t enjoy skating forward for 13 miles. I’d rather pick a spot and go play around and practice skills and maybe skate around from spot to spot here and there.

I want 30mph skates... real life "Air Treks" 🤣 been following his process, glad you got to try em and he started his tour... and regular skating will never be replaced because the exercise/workout aspect, there is no exercise in anything that has a motor so skating will always be around. Another well done vid 🤙

In order, how I became into skating; 1. I got my own. I didn't use them a lot, and they broke, never got new ones. 2. Diamond Jack. My favourite video on all of youtube, and the MC there uses skating. 3. Jet Set Radio. That's another rabbit hole, but tldr, it's skating, and it looks cool. That's how I got to this. I don't know if I'll become *that* into skating that I actually go out of my way to buy some, but they look really cool Also, that dance at the start was beautiful...
