This is brilliant!!! Genious even! And dont worry about talking with yourself. There is nothing wrong with that... If I didnt like you already, I outright endore you now... What a level head on your shoulders... Keep up the good work! You put alot of smiles on peoples faces! And there is nothing in the world that can beat that! No playing at Wembley, no making 40 hit records, no getting famous. Take all the time off you need. You have a family now. Your 56 year old you, would tell you to focus on that. Ofc, you need to be making a living, and keep up appearences, but make sure you are there for your family, and I PROMISE we will be here, whenever you get back... *bows*

This video is kinda genius. They're sitting in the same chair. The dialogue feels natural (well, as natural as dialogue fed from a 16 year old can be), and that why so many comments say "he actually time travelled". The one at 4:16 is ABSURD. They both play a Fender strat, but it looks like 16 Y.O Sammy is playing a squire. I love that his younger voice is just *slightly* higher, chalkier & less stable-pitched, while his older self has a clearer pitch, is louder & more confident.

This video should be shown in every high school. Amazing content. Some of the questions/answers are obvious to an adult, but teens think differently.

There's something beautiful about this video that stirs a lot of emotions I have a hard time putting a name to. I'm pretty sure nearly everyone would love to have 15 minutes to talk to their past self, but you managed to do it in a way that blended humor, humility and human emotion in a beautiful way.

Sammy without a doubt you are the most underrated KZbinr. The way in which you incorporate such amazing storytelling, your love of music, and your GROWTH. Holy fuck Sammy, I'm just SO proud of you as a fellow Canadian making such amazing use of this platform.

Man, great details in the jam session at the end. I'm still at the level of 16 year old you jamming around the pentatonic scale and watching the guitar the whole time to make sure I don't miss a string :-D

This probably the most accurate Talking with my Old self videos, it's like it's a real conversation. And the fact it was planned well ahead of its time, definitely one of my favourites.

If I could go back to my 16-year old self I'd tell him, "Hey, stupid! Keep at it with the guitar so you won't have to start all over 50 years later!" I'm learning and it's a garage-load of fun and I can't change the past so I'll just enjoy it this time around. Cheers....

Samaraiguitarist-- I’m 😢crying and laughing 😊 too! I nominate you for an EMMY award. I can relate to a whole lot that you touched on here. As a 55 yo guitarist. I would have devoted more time to ear training too. And theory and scale practicing. Late this summer and fall, I thought of writing a letter to my 15 yo self. You really hit me with this one. You clothes lined me. I’m going to write that letter to myself. We don’t have counselors in grammar and high schools like this. We need them very badly. Just to talk and to tell kids that everything is going to be alright. I could have used a father or an uncle at 15 to teach me the ropes. But I didn’t have that. Your video here was very bittersweet. I’m saving it to watch again and think about everything. Just your subtle way showing how you’ve matured as a guitarist at the end. Turn arounds, leading notes, pausing, dynamics...... And the poor 16 yo, sticking to the pentatonic minor Scale. And watching as you ended the song properly at the end as a 33 yo. Really moving video. 🏆 Emmy Award. ! 😢😊 Hello from Chicago
