Early in the relationship, I remember telling myself that I wanted him to think for me, like a parent. He used repetitive slogans and bullet lists that made his point, he memorized them and repeated them every time we had an argument.

After learning the true clinical definitions surrounding hypnosis and the power of suggestion, it’s incredible how many aspects of everyday life follow this blueprint. In hindsight, it makes sense that I use improvising in music as a way to parse through my emotions. I visualize a snapshot of a moment and try to replicate it using sound until it dissipates or becomes part of my personal story. In this way, it makes sense that the introject can participate as the fantasy itself

Prof. Vaknins take toward the end makes a ton of sense, it has me considering just how many things are simply self imposed hypnosis. When redefined, it makes sense and perhaps might just be a natural state of this being or existence through synchronization. For example what we consider “love”, a ritual of shared hypnosis brought about by the goal of being “in sync”, reinforced by entraining, both self imposed by introject “echoes” and shared in the shared fantasy that both parties willingly choose to participate in

Unrelated question with the video : psychologist have told me the terms "limerence" and "erotomania" weren't official and used in psychology paper, is that true ? Are these real things or do we give the wrong name on other things on the internet? Thanks.

These are real clinical terms. Erotomania is a diagnosis in the DSM (a delusional disorder). This “psychologist” should go back to freshman year in college.
