San Blas Islands are renowned to be pristine and remote. When we arrived we were surprised at what we found. But it’s still is a beautiful place with beautiful people.

ABOUT US:
Jupiter² was built in the Philippines by an Australian designer for Jamie. During his time away from work, Jamie lived on board and cruised South East Asia. One of his life dreams is to sail around the world. His plans came together at the end of 2018 when he met a Filipina lounge singer in China. Princess was yearning for a vacation since she had been working many years to support her family. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. For the first time, they sail for two weeks around Phuket, Thailand. She began to see what Jamie love about the sea. They both resigned from their jobs in early 2019 and began cruising full time.
Hopefully some inspiration to "Quit Job and Go Sailing".

Guys you raise a very good point about every man and his dog being in certain locations.... and spoiling them. It seems these days that the KZbinrs are in most cases just following each other around and often hanging out with each other, both on the water and in boat yards. I follow a number of KZbinrs and it has got to the stage where I am pruning down who I watch because there is a limit to the number of times I want to see something. In many cases they are showing say, walking up some rocky hill on a Sea of Cortez Island or a ship wreck in an incredible bay in Greece and then I watch another channel that week or the next and there is someone else doing exactly the same. KZbinrs are killing the golden goose that funds their lifestyle and perpetual holiday. Pity when there are so many other wonder places to visit far from the madding crowd.

Going for a swim with so many boats at the anchorage... Makes me think of the old joke about the person who fell into the sewerage pond. They couldn't swim but went though the 'motions'.

I agree, it's like when there's a film about wild animals, Ellen opens a gorilla sanctuary, everyone heads there for holidays (or hunting) etc. I'm finding I'm gradually pruning out the less entertaining personalities (IMO). I'm hanging in with Aussies & Kiwis regardless. Plus these guys have an Ally-Cat (yes it's hers now also), which I'd love to own similar one day, but preferably a Tri.

Yep same here. The apparently most popular ones I almost never if f ever watch. Some of them are just annoying. On the other hand some out there have decent sailing content.

Yeah, I've noticed with my own channel, that my most watched videos are the ones from places where zero to very little content exists. I uploaded one video on Carriacou and there was only one other before mine and it ended up being my most popular video and now there's dozens of them. I think if your channel is already successful, you can get away with showing popular places, because people are subscribing more for YOU and not so much the locations. But with vloggers who are just starting out or trying to grow their channels, if they make a video on Venice for instance, it's gonna get lost amongst the hundreds of Venice videos from more larger channels. That being said, there's a reason these places are so popular and I still want to visit and document them, because they're interesting places. But I totally get what you mean about trends and getting tired of seeing the same places. I saw 5 Indian vloggers upload videos on the same exact place in Kerala, within the span of 1 month. That's why a lot of people are limiting the number of channels they subscribe to. But it's the same with television. I can only see Giza, Chichen Itza and the Coloseum so many times before it gets old. Then some people wonder why they feel underwhelmed when they finally arrive at these places.

The Gunas like to trade cash is secondary. An Old Sail, a fire starting ferro rod, a dive mask, tools, stuff like that.

Yeah, I was asking one of my tour guides where they get their income from, and he said they survive off of trade. It seems that money is only used for transactions with tourists. This is the kind of society I've always envisioned and these people are showing that it's possible. Huge respect for these people.

Wait... so 4+ sailing channels with 00,000's of followers have been promoting the region as pristine and beautiful, and you expected nobody to be there? Hmm... It's the places that no one talks about that may be (still) pristine. BTW - there was a dive resport in San Blas 25+ years ago - this is far from being "remote and unknown..."

When it rains wash the boat wash you self fill water tanks. Trying to get off the beaten path seems to be getting harder. If I had the cash I would be creating boat jams also. Shame bet when you dive there will be a lot of rubbish. By people who don't care. Love your show your so layed back.

a cycle for lithium for example is, if your cell is 100AH when you use 100 ah in total from that cell. Mine are 280AH cells which means after I use 280aH it is 1 cycle. My cells are 6000 cycles if I charge and discharge at or under .5C (140 amps @ 25-35C) I never even come close to that. 40 amps is highest I charge at which is about .14C or 1/7th the AH of each cell. which means every 7 days I gain 1 more cycle count. that means 52.14 cycles a year, 115 years but I know there is no way lithium has a lifespan that long or does it. I am just hoping they out live me. So the biggest thing that hurts Lithium is if you daisy chain them. I have each battery connect to a busbar then my inverters connect to that busbar so they pull from each battery 25% of the load in a daisy chain each battery pulls 100% of the load kind of, if you have 4 batteries with 100 amp load 1 battery will pull 25%-30% the 2nd battery will pull 50-75% then the 3rd and 4th will pull full load which is over working your batteries every time you use them. I explain this to many only a few listen and after 3-4 years 1 of your batteries will loose 20-25% of its capacity and one will loose 10-12.5% of its capacity the other 2 will loose 30%. mine will still have 99% of capacity after 5 years since I have busbars for each positive connection and negative connection. If you need help I will gladly help talk you through it or whatever you need if you have daisy chained batteries.

80 to 100 dollars for a MOLA? We bought one in one of the local villages for just 10. Also, whoever told you 3 weeks is mad! Maybe they meant 3 days. The islands are beautiful of course, but there's nothing to do on them. They're too small and more or less the same. That being said, the archipelago is spread out over a large area. Most tourists seem to congregate in the western end of the chain. Surely if you sailed further east/SE, you would find some islands that are completely void of tourists.

Starlink will become the Internet standard on sailboats in a few years.
@MrJhchrist

Maybe, but probably just long enough to spoil the early adopters and become a household name. As soon as they get that you'll see travel bans, bandwidth throttling and cancelled accounts for even moderately heavy users. All the boats with it now are getting away with it, but are clearly violating terms of service. No problem while starlink gets free advertising and beta testing out of it, but they can just cancel the accounts who won't upgrade to the $10k marine service any time they want.

Lithium at 3 volts is 10% left. I run mine to that with no damage. even at 3 volts per cell when you stop discharging them they go back up to around 3.1 volts. I power my house with them. I charge to 3.45 which is 90% after they settle back to 3.38 in a couple minutes. The most damage happens when you draw or charge over .5C and they are above 35C. Lithium can last for well over 30 years if you take care of them. You seem to be extra careful. Not needed.

I’m guessing this mystery guest is Plucky who wants to build that boat design and as to why there’s so many people ruining the peaceful tranquility of the place is because of all the KZbin channels infesting the place. Several channels there some of which keeps coming back again and again. Go somewhere else so the people who follow these boats spread out instead of concentrating in one small area

If America elected a brain dead Biden as their president they must be morons, so why join their ranks and represent them. They are on the way down, like the Roman Empire, bribery, corruption, nepotism and stupidity is the cause. If your an Aussie prove it, and be proud of who you are, even if none of us gets to choose our parents.
