San Diego County stepping up to help Calgary water crisis

The San Diego County Water Authority is sending two of the pipes 16 hundred miles north. They are going to Calgary to help with the water crisis.

@@litterbug1483 We have needed 6 of these pipes for this water main and used the 4 that we had in stock in the city. Also getting the 2 from San Diego is much much quicker than manufacturing 2 of them.

To the local residents of San Diego, this pipe that burst carry’s 60% of our drinking water to over 1.4 million people so you can imagine the enormous strain this is causing. The break occurred June 5 and we had been told it may be mid July to get this work completed after finding the additional 5 sections 😮‍💨 We have been told that because of your help, and without any unforeseen circumstances, we may be back to normal within the 3 weeks now (for a total of 4.5 to 5 weeks offline) 💙 From the top of the Rocky Mountains 🏔️ and from the the bottom of our hearts, thank you 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 “Paul from Canada”

And you're saying the 1 other (smaller) feeder main from the Bearspaw water treatment plant and the Glenmore water treatment plant provides Calgary with 93% of its water?

I remember in 2021 when tennessee and Missouri had the most Tornadoes touch down in one night.. 110 I think it was. I was working in st louis at the time, when I was heading back to Ontario, Canada the next day.. seeing all the power trucks heading down from Canada to America to help out.. had to be hundreds of power trucks, 6 at a time on the highway, lasted for hours.. seeing them drive by. Made me proud.
