Yes! If you love authentic sushi, you should definitely try Soichi for the experience of omakase. Might be a bit pricey compared to the other sushi roll places … but all worth it for that special occasion :) You’ll definitely need to try their steamed egg custard too! 🤤

@@ChefQsTravelRecipe Oh man, i went to momos paradise the hotpot place you suggested never having done hotpot before, spot on man, amazing food, cant wait to go back.

Wasn’t it?! The Japanese style hot pot is shabu shabu… where you are supposed to enjoy the meat dipped in soup only. But after a while I just start sipping some tonkatsu broth too 😂

That wasn’t Balboa Park. That is Trolley Barn park. Balboa Park is enormous and a few miles south of there.

He actually worked at sushi tadokoro for over 10 years. That’s where he learned most of what he does now.

I believed I got it mixed up lol The chef over at Tadokoro came from Ota sushi… and Soichi came from Tadokoro. 😅 Thanks for the correction!

@1:40 I showed what I ordered. Not sure if prices have changed or not. But I got the Nigiri Omakase, and my wife got the Petite Omakase. We also added on a tempura and a steamed egg custard (definitely must have). :)

A bit on the high end sushi price compare to normal sushi places. But you don’t have to worry about quality of fresh fish. Also, the omakase experience is well worth it :) it’s like waiting to be surprised with every sushi that comes on your plate. 😁

stop repeating what the chef says, it’s so annoying to hear. also, just a tip, don’t focus the camera too much when u eat o stare at it
