San Diego: Missing Person Crash 05202024

LOCATION: Miramar Rd & Camino Ruiz

Witnesses told the Police that a woman had gotten out of the truck, leaving the engine on and the vehicle in the “drive” position. The truck went forward for approximately 50 yards, crossing into oncoming traffic and then hitting the outter fenceline of the MCAS Miramar Marine base.
The woman then fled on foot northbound on Camin Ruiz, but the officers' swift response led to her apprehension approximately 1.5 miles away.
She was detained, and she would not speak with the officers. The officers then discovered that the female was reported missing from the Mid-City area the day before.
