These recommendations will open the door to the criminals to do whatever they want !

Look at washington state
@HPLAR_AIJEMАй бұрын
yea because it’s totally worth putting the entire community at risk to chase someone doing 10 over the speed limit 🫏
@brandonjp56Ай бұрын
@HPLAR_AIJEM it is 100% worth it. People who run tend to have bigger problems. Most people pull over and get a ticket. That's why crime is terrible due to bad policies. Homelessness keeps growing and most of those people aren't from san diego.

Stop trying to stoke panic, bubba. It’s OLD.

Thanks Doug! You didn't say anything that they don't already do. Read the policy. It's a constant evaluation of the pursuit while driving from the officer and supervisors whether its 5 minutes of an hour chase. Its constantly evolving and changing. There should be no recommendations coming from anyone who isn't involved in law enforcement. Maybe if the penalties were more severe, we may have a change in behavior. Some people will not stop regardless, and those people need to be caught.

It’s not worth chasing somebody through the city that hasn’t committed a robbery or a physical violence crime on somebody to pursue them at 100 miles an hour through city street endangering normal citizens and police. Let the guy go get his license plate and catch up with him later.

So finally SDPD descends to the level of other liberal jurisdictions and have tied the hands of the rank and file in enforcing the law. I thought I'd never see it but now it's has come to pass.

Washington state is a good example of why you shouldn't stop police chases. Very often the person fleeing still ends up killing someone in a crash or otherwise commits violent crimes.

All these chases from law enforcement are called adrenaline pumpers….. & now they’re “trying” to take them away due to many crashes & deaths. This sucks.

i already thought 💭 🤔 that if it is too dangerous to continue a pursuit, that it would be called off? however many, many circumstances come in to play. age of suspect, time of day, where the pursuit started at and where it might heading too?

In order to avoid Car Crashes Law Enforcement will ignore the Criminals. and we need a raise..
@lisal6121Ай бұрын
This is a good step in evaluating if an immediate threat warrants a high speed chase or not.

If they do this the people caught need license suspensions for life if you run from cops 😊

Now next we need to get them to stop speeding and accelerating around the town, constantly seeing cops accelerating and wasting our tax dollars on gas. Get rid of those ford edges and put them in Toyota priuses.

Why are we paying millions of dollars for those flock cameras if the police dont know how to use them.... a traffic infraction isn't a reason to kill people over. Stop the wanta be drag racing leo from endangering lives. It seems when people become cops common sense flys out the window.

Most of these chase are for misdemeanors and NOT worth the risk to the public!
