This week we take a look at the San Hima Double Full Air Swag.
Is it better then the over priced Dometic Pico & Darche Air-Volution?

Done my first trip in mine. I would not recommend these swags for super cold nights. Single figures. They hold no heat in at all, totally froze. Actually, the air in the air mattress got that cold i felt the cold come up through the sleeping bag i was lying on. I was also using a camp stretcher. But the air concept is great.

Hey mate, thanks for watching and commenting, if you used the air mattress in winter you would have froze 🥶 Air is very hard for our bodies to heat, that's why I use self inflating little bit more foam to air ratio. I agree it's definitely way to thin to use in winter, but that's where a deasel heater comes in handy 🤣😅

Exactly... stretchers are a big mistake in cold weather for the same reason

How come you didn't set up the mattress in your review and include that in your setup time? Is the mattress any good? Maybe think a little more about the features you need to show to make your reviews a little more complete.

As I mentioned in the video it's just a standard air mattress no difference to any other, I also said that we use a self inflating and that doesn't count to the set up time as we also use that in our tent and canvas swag 😄

mhmm interesting. The setup time is not that much off how fast I can setup my wonderer double swag. Pull down time has this winning hands down. I have noticed that this swag has a more traditional rounded look while the dometic pico it pentagon shaped giving more internal room. Yet again another great video and informative, keep it up

Hello Liam, thanks for watching and commenting mate means alot 👍😊 I'd say set up is easier but agree not a great deal faster. Your right pack down is where it smashed it. I reckon the shape is to help with water run off and stop water getting in. The traditional swag style is so water runs down the side quickly and doesn't soak through. The Pico could get pooling or leaking through slow run off. That's my thoughts any ways.

@@Off.Track4x4 Hey man, all good. I mean, I can understand the soak through if the awning was up. That being said a quick coat of your favourite water proofer would remove those concerns, I would suspect.

Hey!!! I got a Wander swag too!!! Picked it up in Tazzie, and brought it back to the states. L love it but it takes up a bit of room. That's why I'm looking at this swag.

Nice review. Would have liked to see how the outer cover is held back for when you are sleeping with just the mesh. How cold does it get in a NQ winter? That swag looks big enough to fit in 2 Sirroco fans when sleeping

Hey mate, thanks for watching and commenting. No sag from the sides pushing in at all, upside to having a lighter material less weight on the fly mesh. Where we live we get a few 2°c nights but most winter nights around 8-10°c could easy fit a fan of two in there👍

Top review, they do look like a great piece of kit. A suggestion is that it may have helped to see the interior of the swag as in the air pole and mattress construction and pockets if any. No criticism intended. 😊 Cheers

What are the insides of the seams like? Material? What are we talking internal storage wise?

Hey mate, inside is all zippered that way if you have any issues with the air pillars they can be easily fixed. Internal storage will all depend on what size you pick but the double is huge for Ash and myself. I'm 6ft and have no issues with legroom or Hight sitting up, it feels huge.

Still enormous... not for a swag, but compared to a tent with a decent R-value mat these things are absurd. Durability is probably better, but carry a few spare tents and you are still winning. Never had to put a tent under an awning either. The air is a cool concept, it is quick but how much energy does it take to pump it up (and lug 19kg instead of 1-2 kg) compared to poles -- I've inflated a SUP and that isn't fun. Usually when I'm camping, energy is in shorter supply than time and I don't hear anyone talk about the effort, only time (faster does not alway imply lower total effort)

Hey Alax thanks for watching and your feed back, it only takes 19 pumps nothing like a sup, anyone that gets tired after 19 pumps properly shouldn't be out camping rather should be in hospital 🤣

@Off.Track4x4 sounds alright... the pump is an extra piece of gear but an electric pump has multiple uses. I'm assuming it comes with repair patches and that the valves are similar to those on inflatable dinghies so pretty robust?

It appears you're missing the point with gear like this. It's not for the backpacker. It's for camping where you drive out.

Not really, even for camping next to the car I find space is at a premium in my vehicle... fishing gear, kayaking gear, sometimes even a 5hp outboard... and lugging another thing out of the car to setup... well I prefer just a standard small tent, lighter but also quicker... I'm not talking about multi-room stand up in things, I mean a logical replacement for a swag
