Anyone else notice that the strawberry "ladies" ended up literally topless by the end of the video?

Played it for the first time in January, `17. That's pretty much the same feeling I had about the game. Very comfortable game but certainly enough strategy to keep you involved in the game. Absolutely LOVED your adventures in America.

There is a second edition by Alea/Ravensburger. I think it's relatively easy to get.

I think it was already out two years ago. Paul also mentioned something about It in the video I believe. But I just thought letting the people who are watching now know that they can get it if they are interested.

My wife and I prefer San Juan over Puerto Rico because using the cards for everything helps remove some of the randomness because it gets you to options sooner. Also some strategy there in controlling the cards.

I'd like to point out that Paul looks like Eric Clapton, and I spotted a guitar in few of the videos. Coincidence?

Always enjoy when people talk about a game that came out years before another one as if it copied the newer one. San Juan should be credited as where RFTG came from rather than the other way around, just happens where more recent gamers tend to play the newer games first.

Don't they actually have the same lineage, in that Lehmann was asked to do a card version of Puerto Rico, and then they went with Seyfarth's version, and then Lehmann combined his with a space theme from an earlier game, and released it as well. But basically the core of both games is the same brief, at the same time: do a card version of PR.

I don't really know why you'd play San Juan over Puerto Rico. Also I think Race and Citadels is better than San Juan too.

Smaller, quicker, less fiddly, not susceptible to "scripted opening", not suffering from "you win by sitting next to the newbie"... ... why do people play Puerto Rico? should be the question.
@N2HeroProductions7 жыл бұрын
I think it just depends on the person. I haven't got to play Puerto Rico / Race / Citadels yet. I heard San Juan was a good stepping stone to Race though. San Juan is nice and simple and thats why I like it, nothing overly complex, just nice and tasteful.

I played Puerto Rico just last week for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and was quite taken with it. I played with two other people (another first time player and a veteran of the game) and we, the newbies, tied for first. I'm sure it was a fluke, but I definitely have the urge to try it again. I'm not quite sure if I'd like San Juan. I tend to like the presence of board games over their slimmed down card only versions.
