I know of only one illegal alien that took the trouble to become a legal alien that became a citizen of our great country. He needed to return to Mexico for eight months. Then he was invited back in as he had completed all of his paperwork. A most interesting thing happened the day after he took his oath and became a naturalized citizen. He started telling the illegal aliens to go home and to get out of his country. My grandparents, naturalized US citizens that came from southern Mexico, they said the illegal aliens and chicanos were making all Hispanics look bad.

Long term residents could qualify for a green card, this is not citizenship, it just allows those who have been out of contact with law enforcement to remain where they have been.

As a Native born Texan, we do not have an issue with immigrants coming to the United States Of America to work and raise their Families. That part is actually tricky. To be become eligible for citizenship of the United States a person has had to have been a LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENT for a minimum of 5 years and has to pass a citizen and naturalization exam. Not .sure how long it takes to have an opportunity to become a legal permanent resident though. The REAL red tape is the immigration process itself which can take 10 to 20 years in some cases, as current law requires any immigrant to have a sponsor (such as a potential employer or a charity organization). You would think the tyrannical left would try and fix that problem, but that would require actual cooperation and negotiation. They'd rather perform a coup de taut. You look up the tyrant in the dictionary the faces of every democrat from Barack Obama to the Oakland City Council plaster the pages
