As usual, TheBenMoody never disapoint. I am so glad I rediscovered him as part of WATF, the music just speak to me as no other artist currently is. Too bad it's on the radio, cuz these songs are just awesome, but rock isn't popular with radios at the moment, so I guess I will have to be faithful, buy the records and hope it turn out for the best.

Hmm, not sure I agree with any of this, Ben wrote My Immortal when he was 15 about a relative, I suspect Amy was a vocal influence of the writing process in terms of how it should sound with her voice, hence the bridge of the song, but you all seem to be missing one vital part of the Fallen era Evanescence, and that is David Hodges. I suspect the sound of The Fallen and Origin demo was mainly down to Moody and Hodges. Hence why it has never sounded the same since.

You Ben fans never stop Iying do you? Everything you said except "15 years old" is false. Ben wrote My Immortal's lyrics about some fictional ghost story he liked, not anything real. Amy wrote its music and the lyrics of the bridge. Amy started Ev in 1994 with Ben from her musical work and musical vision. Hodges was some local nobody that Ben befriended and brought on FIVE years after Amy and Ben had already made Ev music. Hodges was just added to the credits of a bunch of songs Amy and Ben had already written years before.

Its the way it is for the same reasons you dont hear his solo stuff on the radio. He, as a solo act, isnt signed to a big label. Therefore the budget is all out of pocket. It takes alot of cash to produce a video like you see on MTV. I think for the budget his solo stuff is on, it is a true testament to his raw ability. He is a beast! And has this tight budget and side project banner, put to shame the highly backed and mainstream praised most recent Evanescence record. Horns up to ya Ben!

Some day these old videos are going to just take off out of nowhere, and Ben will realize he should have stuck with this solo stuff all along. If he had kept going he'd be a massively successful solo artist by now. Just needed to grind out a few albums and eventually with his skill he'd make a hit single and be back in the spotlight. Instead he went off on all these other projects like watf and that other band where the lead singer was literally worse than him lmao. Just do more solo work man this stuff was amazing.

@Dina-nh9jv Yeah I like WATF too. IMO Carly's voice is a little flawed for that style of music, but they found a way to sort of bypass that on a lot of the songs. If they really tried and she kept singing with the right style that band could have been pretty big too.

I've never been a fan of Ben's vocals and this song is more of the same. But he is a genius in terms of writing music and lyrics and for that reason I will continue listening to anything that he works on.

You are absolutely right. The Open Door confirmed that the main talent behind making Evanescence sound so brilliant was Ben. That album was nowhere near as layered and intricate as Fallen or Origin and the guitars were utterly monotonous. And then with their new album, I thought "maybe Amy improved in her musical ability" so I checked it out and had to stop halfway through. It was just more bland BS.

Semirhage666 TOD was much more creative musically than Fallen , Guitar riffs , Drums , even Amy's Vocals, Fallen was so commercial So it's not fair to compare . if you did the comparison with the self titled album i would Agree . Moody had a chemistry with Amy stage wise and it was a hell of a thing sadly we won't get it back

Yeah, I love Evanescence to this day, but without Ben there definitely is a lack of imagination in the new music. Dude you need to read FULLY. Moody co-wrote EVERY song on Fallen. Hodges co wrote 8 of the 11 songs. So Moody and Hodges had a MASSIVE input into the sound of that album..... Of note, every song you listed for being Amy songs....Ben co wrote ALL of those and Hodges cowrote 3 of the 4.
