What Christian spirituality called the unitive way was often described as non-dual consciousness by Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism. Are we often seeking the same thing? There are churches that do not substitute salvation for the next life but encourage one to become saints in this life and be in tune with their inner light. Clearly, this approach is mostly from the perspective of Catholicism which is interesting.
