So, I have finally taken the plunge into buying sand casting materials, I have the sand, the hammer, the flask and screwdrivers and stuff to make the vents but I haven’t tried it yet. I can’t stand baby powder as it takes my breath away but I want my piece to come out correctly. Is this a necessary thing to use? I like the idea of sand casting because there’s so much more I can do instead of just pouring into a mold but at the same time it’s daunting because I don’t like failing and get discouraged easily. I appreciate the video and the bars turned out nice!!

That’s so awesome! Sand casting is very fun to learn and you’ll see once you get it down, that your possibilities are endless in what you can make. I’ve seen people use flour, but baby powder or talcum powder is what most people use including myself. If anything, I’d suggest buying a good respirator so it doesn’t bother you. I’d be happy to help in any way.

I've seen these for sale before, your creation?

Yes, I also make another variation of this. I started making these a while ago but over the years I’ve seen others make some as well.
