I didn't realise you had so much content after subscribing from seeing you on Sarah's channel, so I'm catching up on in and really enjoying it! When I first saw you on Sarah's channel, I thought you were just some cheap hired help lol, I didn't realise just how much experience and knowledge you have - makes me wish I had a large garage so I could do what you're doing - I'm picking up a lot of helpful stuff from you. Thanks!

How many bags did it take to do the front clip? Going to pick up a sand blaster today. Excited for new tools, but know the job is going to suck lol
@rookie__pilot2 жыл бұрын
I think i used 1 50lb bag but cycled it like 3 times! Make sure to wear a respirator you’ll regret it if you dont. And wear overalls because the sand will get in every crevice you have lol

Looks great! What size/type compressor did you use for this? Also how long do you recall it took you to sandblast that entire front end? I have a 66 fastback myself and am looking to do the same thing.
@rookie__pilot4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I used i think a 21 Gal compressor. Honestly anything would work if you go smaller youd just have to wait for the compressor to catch up with the blaster. It took about 3-5 hours total. Hope to see your project !
@edsonmadrigal2634 жыл бұрын
@@rookie__pilot Thanks for the quick reply. I was looking at 20-21 gallon compressor, was just wondering if I had to go larger. Also I saw they have they same style sandblaster but larger for $20 more. Wondering if its worth getting the larger tank so I can I fill with more media. I'll keep a lookout for more of your videos.

Great video I’m about to blast my entire 65 Mustang Coupe. Why did you choose to use the aluminum oxide instead of the glass bead media? And what size nozzle did you use because I want to get a decently large nozzle (to quicken the job as fast as possible) while making sure it’s blasting off the paint and rust well like you did. Thanks
@rookie__pilot4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I went with the aluminum because its the most abrasive, it ate up the rust really fast! I believe the nozzle was 1/8 or 3/32. If you have a large enough compressor the large nozzles will do good if you have a normal sized compressor id stick with a smaller one. I believe CFM is the most important factor with the compressors. Thanks again!

Rookie Pilot great info. I’ll look more into aluminum then. Thanks again for the video and reply

@@rookie__pilot one more question. What air compressor are you using and what are the specs on it (cfm @ psi). Trying to look for a compressor that will work with this exact abrasive blaster
@rookie__pilot4 жыл бұрын
Ofcourse, it is an older ProAir, it has (8.4 cfm @ 40psi) and (6.7 @ 90 psi) but states 10.5 psi overall
@РусланКаписъски2 жыл бұрын
Awesome video! I have just one question. I want to buy an air compressor which makes 9 cfm at 90 psi. Is it enough, because I do not want to spend so much many and to be disappointed… Thank you very much!

Great work man!!! What primer did you end up using in the engine bay?
@rookie__pilot3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I used self etching primer, but if i were to do it again i would use Epoxy Primer since it seals better !
@Maxmgm212.3 жыл бұрын
@@rookie__pilot can you use the rust protector on top of the epoxy primer ? I’m getting ready to start mine
@rookie__pilot3 жыл бұрын
@@Maxmgm212. im sure you can without any issue, but the epoxy primer should be enough to seal against moisture

I have been watching "Kirker" Eduro DTM Epoxy. I was told by customer service in late November 2022, they were moving into new facilities at the end of the year, then make a Black Enduro DTM Epoxy available. I am not just using on the frame but side panels as well. Stripped clean chemically, neutralized, wax & grease, epoxy followed by high-build primer. Yes I have places that require some hammer & dolly action but to my surprise, this 67 C10 W/Panoramic rear window option make it different. Very little rust inside, and I have already fixed that. But sealed somewhat with left over primer. I am going to wire wheel and apply short stand fiberglass to seal welds. Pressure pot and over a case of inside frame, door and rocker sealant. Anything you can do to keep water off both sides of what you can see and can't see is beneficial to the vehicle. You are doing a great job, blasting, seam sealer and the rest. Chemistry keeps changing and I have been researching everything I can find. I can't afford PPG as the store is so fancy it looks like you need a ticket to get in!
