Congratulations to all these wonderful young men and women! Although I am not British I have the highest respect and gratitude for the "Forces" for the sacrifices they made through two World Wars and many other wars...unfortunately, humanity does not know how to live in peace and these brave persons pay the price...God Bless them always! 🙏🏼❤️

its a fact the Majority of the 220 will be out of the army in around 5 years and will leave as Captains the rest will be passed over majors and a few will reach Lt Col or above

In my day in the fifties, Captains who were passed over, left to make way for up and coming.
@Jeffybonbon5 ай бұрын
@@fordpopular8792 There are only three officers in a Battalion who are earmarked for better places The Lt Co Adjutant and Training Major the rest will stay as Capt and Majors passed over most will not see Staff Collage which is a must to go to full Col Its the same in the senior ranks 99% will not see RSM just a lower plot in the same army

The UK chief of staff last week demonstrated one of the biggest requirements required to be a leader of rank or file and that is to have the ability to command the respect from your subordinates, however for voicing his opinion about the use of the armed forces as a government labour force during national strikes has had a rebuke from a has been white shirt MP called Jacob Rees-Mogg who said "I'm a bit worried about senior military figures sounding off on their opinions. "I think the job of the military is there to do what they're told by the civilian authorities, it's not for the military to be expressing their views., sure ! but its the defence chiefs job to make sure that the countries defensive capability isn't compromised to include the morale of the countries armed forces and importantly anything that effects the recruitment of the armed forces where their is presently a serious problem , imagine the recruitment slogan, join the Army and ....drive an ambulance , work at an airport , empty the bins , drive a petrol tanker and fight fires etc etc, one can appreciate serious vital services , but presently the armed forces are viewed as a tool to address the unions , when it should be legislation of law to protect vital services in the UK !

Exactly. It’s seeking a military solution to a civic problem. And since Forces are for King and Country that includes the Unions and the striking workers every bit as much as it includes civilian democratic government

They have ER on the badge on the front of their hats. Shouldn't those hats be updated with the change in the royal family.

We need a bigger and more powerful NATO, I'm glad that Finland and Sweden are joining. NATO is key to having peace in this part of the world. Especially with crazy nut jobs like Putin doing his war crimes in Ukraine.
