I'm an Korean English learner, and a teacher. I appreciate your clear pronunciation and tips. Also, the video shows the audience your lips and mouth(which is critical for a language learner) so that I can actually "see" how to pronounce the whole texts. It was good.

4:37 is the sound /æ/ for the word bank /bæŋk/ like /eɪ/ /beɪŋk/ . Thank you.
@SanDiegoVoiceandAccent4 жыл бұрын
Yes! The /æ/ in "bank" sounds like /eɪ/ , so you can think of it as /beɪŋk/. It would be so much easier if we could use the /eɪ/ symbol - but that's not how the dictionaries and the linguists transcribe it!

@@SanDiegoVoiceandAccent I think the the /ŋ/ sound influence the vowel That before as in word morning noun /ˈmɔrnɪŋ/ ɪ to like /i/ /ˈmɔrniŋ/. Thank you so much.

@@ramzy-6566 Yes - you are right! The /ŋ/ sound definitely influences the vowel in "morning" - it makes the IH vowel sound closer to the EE vowel. (Good ears!)
