@@JoDaddysGarage I am not certain what you mean? Can you put the "sun gun" model info in a future video? Other question is why wear a respirator when buffing? Never seen anyone doing that before. Also as others have said besides this setback car is coming together nicely.

I have had great success with two stage paints by fogging the final base coat because that evens everything out. Also you could be more consistent with your paint gun, meaning you could to be much closer to the surface, around 6 inches, when spraying. It is not done until you are happy with the results.

Looks really awesome it’s a bummer to re shoot but at least now coverage will be easy. I suggest using the soft edge tape technique in your jambs vs. the foam tape. In my experience the foam leaves a harsher line. With the soft edge if you bring it back about an 1/8” into the jamb it will melt in almost perfect.

I feel your pain...painted hood three times now...first with clear...and it bubbled...now twice with matt...need to repaint...ran out of paint on last strip so it was blotchy....and the door is a repaint...and the color was off...will get a shop to match to see if I can just paint door...

WOW!! Sad, but it happens. Truly appreciate your work no matter what slips and slides may happen. I’ll be squirting the paint on my rig also. It will be more of a sage green when it comes time. I’d like to show you pictures of what I started with and where I’m at now. It sure is a slow process. If you would like to see them, let me know how to show you. Mine is a 65 Ranchero. Well anyway, continue your good work. I’ll continue watching.

I've found that using a razor blade on runs and dirt nibs helps in the long run. Yes it is scary to think about on fresh paint but could use 800 to start with and not worry about burn through with buffing.

I also sometimes use 600,then go over it with a black sharpie, then go with 1000 until all sharpie paint is gone, then I sharpie it one more time ,use 1500 ,then jump into 3000 trizact.

Sux you have to start again, but hey, even the best painters don't get it right every time! One hint to sanding runs, is to put a light coat of putty over it & sand that, blocks flat every time.

Barry. Are going to just reshoot the door, or the whole car? Also. I’m wondering if you will address the vents that go on the car behind the doors? If it’s a 67’ I thought they were inserted into the quarter panel. My 68’ just has the small trim in the area.
