@jeremyhess7977 Жыл бұрын
Because Konrad Kurze is/was one of the best duelists - equal to Sanguinius since they were both pre-cognitives and knew each other's moves before they occurred in real-time. But GW couldn't have two pre-cogs on the same side, so they moved Konrad to the bad guys and make him appear weaker/lesser by making his character completely insane and fatalistically flawed. Therefore, Kurze is actually the opposite of Sanguinius, not Corax. Kurze and Corax are only similar in physical appearance and tactics, whereas, Kurze is the outward representation of the terrible genetic flaws and fears that lie within Sanguinius - while Kurze's seed is one of the purest strains of all the primarchs. Kurze is Sanguinius's dark mirror reflection.

Interesting note about Loyalist Primarchs coming back to the setting: I would caution everyone to remember that both Leman AND Vulkan told "us" that they will return at the "end times". So Primarchs coming back is COOL, but it's not a good sign. When either of those two returns, you'll know shit is NOT GOOD in the Imperium.
@DominusNox106 Жыл бұрын
Shit is never good in the Imperium. I do share your opinion on the return of the Wolf King being a bad thing. Only when the galaxy is burning will the Russ return. For the END. If you read the Horus books, and siege of terra the entire point is all the Space Marines were products of a barging between the Emperor and the Chaos gods. But Big E double crossed them. The primarchs were demigods in the literal sense, as their purpose was to be used to mass produce humans as templates of what the Chaos Gods had in mind for taking over the universe. So when they absorb too much warp energy (as big e and horus were doing) they were turning into what they were always supposed to be, not that they were ever something resembling a human.

My head canon is that the claim the Emperor stole the power to make the Primarchs from the powers of the warp is a lie told by the Chaos gods. In reality he recruited minor warp gods to become the souls of the Primarchs. The minor gods would be archetypes from myth and legend. Corvus is, obviously, the divine Raven which shows up in mythologies as varied and Egyptian, Norse, and American Indian. Ravens even show up as prominent figures in some bible tales. Other Primarchs likewise correspond to totemic figures, ancient gods, and even aspects of the major arcana from the tarot.

Yeah I always wondered if because corax had that shadow meld ability at a fairly young age, he was able to have a little bit of a leg up in applying his psyker abilities. Since they are sort of different than a normal psyker, it kind of feels to me that he just took the time effort he has to advance those abilities to this insane level. In my mind, since he was always solitary in his way, he likely wad able to take the time reflect on how to do this. I also think because they are psykers and made of warp stuff, I think quite a lot they use their abilities without having to mentally and physically doing it the way the normal librarian would have. It's almost effortless for him, because its already part of him. The lion does the same kind of effortless thing, he just doesn't quite understand what he's doing to the level it seems corvus does

I think Corvus "pre-cognition" leans itself more towards exceptional intuition. Like in the way he was able to see the emperor in a different form. Corvus being master of shadows, makes sense why the Emperor wouldnt be able to obscure his form as easily. I play RG because my mind works the way Corax does warfare in the lore. But even so, Corax is my favorite Primarch. What is he now? Part of him is the warp daemon - and in this case perhaps the only daemon of the Emperor as a god - but his physical form is hinted to still be in his tower in the Aviary on Deliverance under guard. They hint of RG leaders going into that room and coming back totally changed. Why knows what Corax tells them - shows them. The Lion is resurrected. Russ is alive. Corax is alive - but all are changed. Bringing them back together - I really like. Something I am also reminded of - in the conversation between the Emperor and Konrad in I forget which story, but it is near the end of Konrad's life - Curze says he appears to hate Corax because he knows Corax is what Konrad might have become. That really suggests that Corax has pre-cog as much as Curze.

The primarchs having self-actualisation as an ability is a pretty interesting idea, and the reason the chaos primarchs change so much could be put down to them self actualising. Horus didn't turn into a Daemon because maybe he doesn't see himself as one. And why mortarion is so monstrous.
@Snowfly1 Жыл бұрын
I find it interesting how self perception has a tangible effect on the Primarchs. It has some fun implications on the Emperor as well: ‘Is this your true face?’ asked Corax. ‘I have no such thing,’ replied the Emperor. ‘I have worn a million faces over the millennia, according to need or whim.’ Controlling the ability would be a cool thing for him to do but it would be really interesting if over his long life he just learned to craft persona's that are just as real as his original self, eventually a long enough time passes and he forgets his original self, there is just some vague unstated goal (to us) and a million faces striving for that goal. It would make him nearly impossible to predict for the Chaos Gods but also for his own precognition.
@Gronmin Жыл бұрын
I wonder if what we are starting to see is a growing imperium section of the warp seperate from chaos. It could be that the second half of the emperors soul took over the remnants of the angelic equivalent of the chaos realms in the warp and grew it from there. @panhandle998 ай бұрын
Lion L'Johnson looks old because his body is 10,000 years old. It was in real space the whole time in The Rock. Old lore has him in stasis, but what if he was actually just in a coma with his mind free in the warp. And the Watchers just kept a vigil while he slept.

Now I wonder about Dorn. He is the one primarch who seems to be perfectly indifferent to the Warp. He might be the only one who'd remain just his awesome self even in the Eye of Terror.

I imagine Khorne being hype AF for this fight. I took the power drain to be his focus shifting. Lorgar’s getting the brakes beat of him. He’s distracted.

see if Corax has been doing war for the last 10k years would just be amazing for his character arc.

i thought that to about the Primarchs when i was readin Guiliman thinking he got older . it made no sense in my mind at that moment bc i was thinking the dude was in a stasis field to stop the spreading of the poison and not get de@ad De@ad . so the time wasnt moving inside his field or i assume so . then i thought that the primarch maybe project there feelings on there body . making them look older . or even not letting there body heal like Corax did (i think) Now i really hope we get Khan , Vulkan or Corax return since they re my favorite but any primarch return will make for a good story
@FriedPork-cw5fh Жыл бұрын
Primarchs do not age in the traditional sense. For example, by the end of the heresy Leman Russ was growing white hair when it was stated that primarchs are immortal. Just as you have said it, primarchs project their current feelings onto their physical forms. Lion el Johnson just thinks he’s old and that is why he looks old.

He also doesn’t heal from his injuries because he is so depressed, they seem to be affected by their mental state, which humans also are just taken to another level with them

I'd like Corax to come back to the setting but as neither loyalist or traitor but like a malice type character taking on a dark aspect like the night haunter.
@marty5144 Жыл бұрын
Why??? Corvex even told Konrad that he is nothing like him and never will.
@bazmc1153 Жыл бұрын
@@marty5144 But it was after that his legion got corrupted and he flew into the eye of terror. I think it would fit well with the irony of 40k if he became the true night haunter after being in the warp so long.

I find it insane that Corax is so low on the totum pole of the Emporors sons. I think Corax is dope! Its so hard to pick a favorite, but The Raven Lord is by far my favorite. I just hope that they GW does not leave him as an afterthought because they could really do some amazing things with his story, but we know how GW works, soooooo.

Last book i read was "Deliverance lost" and despite the fact that the Alpha Legion is my legion i felt so bad for the raven guard who where already beaten down. I mean respect for this level of infiltration but man... It was heavy and heartripping. Like Alpharius itself began to feel a little bit for his "battle brothers" but this only highlights the setting in WH40K. It isn´t fair, it isn´t really forgiving, it rips your heart out and throws you back into an endless battle.

Corvus and Ferrus are my favorite primachs I think they are very underrated.

Great video thanks. Its clear that corax has learned to draw on his warp self without taint....much like the emperor does....he has always been underutilised by GW. I wish they would bring him back to the 40k setting sooner rather than later. Corax is a bad ass with potential to be one of the most powerful primarchs.
@criticalcommenter Жыл бұрын
Or like pretty much every psyker and navigator. Harnessing the warp without being corrupted is pretty standard. Even baseline humans do this.
@andrewkennedy9134 Жыл бұрын
@@criticalcommenter Have you read the corax story? Baseline humans, even drawing on the warp do not kick the proverbial rear of a Daemon Primarch! Corax took DP Lorgar apart, without breaking a sweat, or Lorgar getting in any sort of threatening attack. It is so far beyond a psyker or navigator in the magnitude of power that its like comparing the Lion fighting a guardsman and saying the baseline guardsman would do ok.

I hate that I missed this book, but I think I know what happened to Corax: he had a simple realization about himself, that he is of The Warp. And since he realized it, he's not bound by the limitations of flesh. He's back to the way The Emperor found him, he's a powerful warp entity while he is there. I think this shows us how all the Primarchs were in the before time. Lorgar, for all his knowledge, couldn't get there. He had to drink the Chaos Kool-Aid because he thought he needed it. He could've kept his autonomy and gained immense power if he had just realized what he really was. It's symbolic of self confidence. The good kind comes from within and the bad kind comes from what others tell you about yourself. The truly self confident man will always be more powerful than the narcissist who draws his power from others.

Konrad Curze regretted saving Lorgar as soon as he saw the Gal Vorbak. And poor Corax - perhaps it would help if he could think of getting rid of Chaos as a work in progress? I will never, ever forgive the Alpha Legion.
@benbeckman2377 Жыл бұрын
It would be really amazing if all Primarchs actually can steal a portion of chaos to help them reach their maximum potential and the change is depending on each Primarch imagination and how they think of themselves at their strongest. Corvus's crow form and Lion aging is just them reaching their highest potential as a being. and it would be hilarious if later they reavealed that there is no need to fully submit to chaos and become Daemon Prince for Primarch to reach their highest potential.

RE - Lorgar's power being drained. I don't think it was, I think he was just getting the stuffing kicked outta him.

Dear @SandmanofTerra , i always like your analysis/psychoanalysis of primarch and their situations. I have quite a different perspective on things especially on 'returning' loyal primarchs. You may need to suspend your judgement a little while: When primarchs are created, each are not only have an (or some) amplified feature/characteristic (+ve points) of their father but also amplified gap/weaknesses (-ve points) of their father's ... likely vis-a-vis a normal human (lack of certain emotions etc). Lets call this the 'nature factors'. ..Then their experience primarily from the scattering moments until reunited with the Emperor, but also up until Horus' death - as the 'nurture factor'. Considering they all get to be >10k y.o., by the time of heresy, they are all basically ' young adults'. Like all man, from that point onwards you begin to see the world/universe AND yourself as what it is, not as what you want it to be. The Lion sees his younger self as an impatient, approval seeking, proving a point type of guy..basically lacking maturity and wisdom. Possibly because its only natural to associate wisdom with age, thats why he appears to aged the most. The older Gulliman has started showing 'signs'of disaggrement with the Emperor's policy especially in terms of diplomacy. He probably a lot less xenophobic than anyone else in his family - and if it were up to him - he will follow the Ancient Roman policy - every xenos have the right to be the citizen in his empire - but a 2nd class one - with differed taxes. The older Corax - has embraced the warp, taking advantage of it, instead of shielding from.His wise old self recognise that for the strong, the warp (not the entities there) is neither good or evil. One should only appreciate and take advantage (with caution) of ones essence after all'. IF Dorn is returning, he would likely be less a rigid perfectionist, no longer such a pain-in-the-arse. And maybe after many,many slow talk by Gulliman and no less than few smack in the head by the Lion, will accept that many things are not his fault and whatever will be (or has been), will be. However, Leman Russ will comeback exactly the same. He is the Eternal Boy. Every family has one.

My headcanon is that Corvus did not see the E’s true form. Instead, it was E showing him that Corvus’s power is a piece of him.
