Honestly, it’s all just a cycle that we can track It starts with Tom and Kristen, and that just utterly emotionally abusive relationship where it actually is hard to tell which one of them started the abuse Then we see the two of them move onto different relationships Enter James 10 years younger than Kristen, and she’s pouring alcohol down his throat and clearly using him to get back at her ex. She was clearly the abusive one in that relationship, however, like in most abusive relationships, it spreads James gets defensive, reacts to the abuse And like Kristen overcorrected in his next relationship and became the abuser Now we go back to where Tom went onto a new relationship with Ariana and we see the life get sucked out of her for many years then we see that twisted shit he did in season 10 and it’s very clear now he was the abusive one in the relationship with Kristen because he’s pulling all the same moves. He just doesn’t have the same affect because Ariana is a lot stronger than Kristen was and has a much better support system and society itself is a much better place than it was when this happened to Kristen Now James is off the alcohol and he’s actually dealt with a lot of his demons, and he seems to of actually be breaking the cycle of abuse in relationships.
