Okay guys I'd say this works soo well though tbh. I took 3 hrs to make it. But the result was really nice and I'd suggest u to use glasses instead of transparent papers because the image quality is very low in transparent papers. This is really amazing u should try once.

Hey! I made this with a black shoebox (I did not have any black cardboard XD) and it turned out amazing! I also used plastic instead of glass too, and it worked great. Earned a sub from me!

Hello! Just a genuine question I am planning to make a supersized version of this using an old LED tv I have and porting my laptop to connect on it so it can display. Would this work properly? I wanted to implement a cool holographic screen for my cyberpunk room. I also wanted to know if there are any alternative clear sheets I can use for this build

Yes it does work in light, but the effect of the hologram seems to become less robust and less vibrant in some ways when a light source is added in the ambient environment.

So projecting light into air, and stopping it, to use air as a display, is functionally impossible. You need something for the display to refract off of, since light can only be refracted, reflected, or absorbed.

Irritating? How old are you? I played with a plastic Star Trek phaser in my backyard in the mid-70s. We have lasers, and the current communicator is my Z Fold5. We're not at warp, nor are we teleporting... more than a single molecule... yet. From wanting a Dick Tracy wrist TV to having so much better in a 50 year span is amazing. We truly live in a time where scientific and technological dreams are coming true every day. We should be happy with Pepper's Ghost for a little while longer.

In this DIY application, the thickness of the glass is probably negligible, a glass pane taken out of a small picture frame will work well. I just completed this demo last nite and the prototype is working nominally. Let me know if you have any issues.
