Sandy, great lesson, as always. I have a frustratingly large supply of this Stonehenge paper. I found it nearly unusable for large washes or anything requiring heavy water usage. Pilling and buckling were its major crimes. I now stick with Arches for paintings and Hahnemuhle for sketchbooks.

Sandy, do you ever put clean water over the dried painting before you glaze? Why or why not? This is so beautiful! Thanks so much for these videos.

Hmm I thought I answered yesterday so forgive me if this is a duplicate: no pre wetting. That will lift color underneath. The whole idea of glazing is to change the hue or value without losing prior layers, that is why I went for the simplest strokes. Too much water or scrubbing makes mud. (And I’ve made my share of mud, lol)
