For some reason when I use to watch Jerry Rice play, I didn’t think he was that fast. I always thought he was crafty at his skill. After watching him going up against Sanders, I now realize he had some wheels on him as well.

@@CooManTunes yeah that is true. I went back and watched some of his highlights not too long ago. His route running was frigging unbelievable. That’s why Deion had such a tough time with him. The way he ran his routes were damn near perfect. Or as perfect as a player can get. Another one was Michael Irvin. His 40 was a 4.52. Nothing to write home about, but I’m a Washington fan and he would kill Darrell Green all of the time. Amani Toomer was another one not super fast in the 4.5’s but his routes would kill Green all of the time. I hated both of them.

@@shannonwilson6216 yup. this is why i hate how much weight ppl put on the combine. There's 'racing' speed and 'football' speed. You don't have to run a 4.3 to beat a corner down the field if you can get him to bite a fake early, and acceleration / quickness are more useful than flat out top speed.

Deion is the only corner back that I ever saw who you could line up against any elite WR and he would not allow one reception the entire game. Prime Revis Island is close but Deion will always be the greatest corner that ever lived.

Great watching these guys playing. 2 of the best ever. I remember nobody used to throw to Deion's side when he covered someone - the guy was just so good. I think even QBs had sleepless nights not just receivers when playing against Sanders. Guy was a great player and an amazing baseball player too. Just watching these replays he hardly allows Jerry RIce an inch to catch the ball. 2 brilliant players, thanks for uploading.

He had a MLB career too that lasted a decade...tore it up in the world series back in the day..to play both sports at high levels makes you the 🐐. Can't forget about bo jackson too. He was special as well. Deion though in my option, is the greatest athlete I've ever seen.

jibbo 123, Maybe, but Deion is in the NFL HOF, got two SB rings, and was the best player in his position. Moreover, he was a great returner and occasionally played offense. His career lasted longer and, be honest, he was a good baseball player too. On the whole Deion was more effective and complete than Bo.

Mostly due to Deion being either stuck on Rice's hip, or catching up to Rice. Deion most of the time forced Young to make perfect throws otherwise, he would deflect or intercept it. To Young's credit 3:04 was a dime

I saw Prime Time back in 1994 at the Murph in San Diego when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He was so good. I am very fortunate to have been able to watch him play in person.

Primetime was one of the very few whose presence totally got inside the head of the opposing QB, and OC would rework their game plan to avoid throwing his direction. He also had the potential to go all the way whenever he touched the ball. So fun to watch!

I saw "Prime Time" around FSU when he & I were young , and he was always a kind and gracious individual , and in all his other endeavors , he has continued to exude class and decency. Many of today's young people could learn a thing or two from these guys. I still remember Mr. Saunders " bait " Auburn QB Reggie Slack into throwing an interception in the Sugar Bowl. Same closing speed described by J. Madden in footage.
