Bombay Ravi is the same Ravi Sankar Sharma who made Rafi Saab sing Chaudavi ka Chaand ho... in 1960. Hit maker of his era in Hindi cinema. He was out of movie world for 20 years before being invited to Malayalam cinema. He created gems in malayalam too. Since he is a hindustani composer he had consulted with Dasettan on carnatic raagas for the songs in this movie.

There is also a Telugu version of this Natabhairavi ragam based song, from the movie Sarigamalu. Interestingly, it is sung by legendary singer SP Baalu sir. He once said that this song demanded more practice for him before singing. I don't know how many have heard that version, but it's unique in its own way. (Ps . No comparison comments between Dasettan and Baalu sir, no point in doing that. Just enjoy both the versions ❤️❤️)
